25.01.2022 Such a random thing to find while picking up poo in the paddock

25.01.2022 How can you resist giving some extra love when after the session they hang their bum over the stable door and ask for more

23.01.2022 Don’t be fooled by my sweet and innocent face.. I will bite you on the arse the first chance I get

22.01.2022 How hilarious are these donkeys!!! Don't know if I'd like to be the person running away from the cranky one though!!

21.01.2022 Stretching - ALWAYS warm your horse first by doing a few minutes of active walking. NEVER force a stretch. Learn to feel and listen to your horse they will show you their limit. GENTLE encouragement of the stretch without force will provide great benefits where forcing a stretch can do more harm than good.

21.01.2022 How good are mornings!! Magpies singing, horses munching breakfast, spending the day helping horses!! Gratitude to Mother Nature.. she’s certainly incredible.

20.01.2022 This is worth the read.. good information.

20.01.2022 Nice reconditioning program for bringing an injury free horse back into work

19.01.2022 Winter is upon us and our horses are looking fluffy and warm in their winter coats. If your horse has a wet, sweaty or muddy coat for their session then my fingers could pull on their hair which could make it a little uncomfortable for your horse. So please make sure your horse is dry and free of mud before their bodywork session. Both your horse and I will thank you.

18.01.2022 When you need to give the little brother something to do so you can enjoy your bodywork session. Such cuties

10.01.2022 Good information about how to warm your horse up.

10.01.2022 Proprioception via the hooves is important for the overall health of your horse. A walk over different terrains can be so beneficial. Grass, sands, rocks, leaves, sticks and hard surfaces all contribute to proprioceptive health for the whole body.

09.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day.

08.01.2022 More on proprioception.. Poles are very useful in providing proprioceptive benefits. By walking over poles your horse has to judge height, distance, flight arc and speed increasing awareness and proprioception while doing so. A good exercise to try, especially for base narrow horses is to lay a pole flat on the ground and ask your horse to straddle the pole with a front leg and hind leg on the same side of the pole and the other front leg and hind leg on the other side. Ask your horse to walk forward along the pole and see what happens. It’s a good exercise for activating pectorals, increasing balance and proprioception. Remember to lay the poles flat on the ground, start slowly and work your way up to doing the full exercise.

08.01.2022 The cutest two faces I had the pleasure of seeing this week... so adorable

03.01.2022 VERTICAL BALANCE is where the horse distributes weight evenly over the left and right legs - the forelegs in particular. If your horse looks or feels like they are ‘motor biking’ around the circle then he doesn’t have vertical balance. You can teach your horse to have good vertical balance by teaching him to shift his weight from left to right in the vertical plane until he can position his trunk directly and evenly between his shoulders. In the moment your horse finds his vertical balance you will notice that he will drop his head, relax his back, relax mentally and reach forward with his neck. PS. You cannot ‘make’ this happen with any form of gadget.
