24.01.2022 ABOUT ME My name is Kelly Duyvelshoff, I love the work I do and feel that I am making a difference to people’s lives, I am the founder of Connect Grow Thrive Support Services where I have the opportunity to work with people to help them develop their social wellbeing and create the best outcomes for the people who I support. As a lead educator in the childcare for the past 18 years I have facilitated many group activities and worked with many families supporting the needs of... young people to develop social and emotional skills for social engagement. I have professional and lived experience being the mum of NDIS participant. I am a sole trader and work as a support worker who provides individual support for my clients, create group events and in-home and community support. I have recently developed a social group that meets fortnightly at Northlakes CUA Bank . I have created this group in collaboration with Charleen Hoolihan Founder of CREATE art Therapy. The purpose of this group to be able to provide fun and engaging opportunities for adult NDIS participants, where they are able to connect with others. During our social nights we will provide structured and spontaneous activities that allows for each participant to enjoy interacting with new people and developing friendships along the way. 23.01.2022 So excited we had our second social meetup tonight and the word is getting out that we are holding this group event fortnightly. We were fortunate enough to meet some lovely new people. Thank you for supporting my small business. I hope to continue to keep working to create an amazing group of people to connect and build friendships. In collaboration with Charleen Hoolihan from CREATE art therapy we will be holding an art therapy workshop this Thursday night from 5.30-6.45 at... Shop 1206 Corner of Northlakes Drive and Anzac Ave. This workshop is for participants 8-13 , $30 per participants.This week we will be hosting a workshop called fabulous faces, during this experience it will give the participants the opportunity to talk about different expressions explore different facial features and learn about how different expressions can mean different things. It’s also a chance to connect with other young people in a fun and educational way. See more

16.01.2022 We had a nice morning spent fishing, eating chips and relaxing eating cheese and crackers at Woody Point. I am so fortunate to be able to take these amazing young people out , have fun and also help them learn a new skill.

11.01.2022 We have been busy working on creating more events and hope to have some coming up in the near future. Next month we will be hosting a day at the track again and would love to take some young people out for a great day. We have also been able to get in contact with a local business that takes people on a motorbike tours around Redcliffe. We have been able to reasonably price rides for our participants' followed with a bbq at the beach. For this event we will be limited to the number of spots and will ask that you reserve your booking. Once we have dates for both of these events we will post on here. 10.01.2022 During the school holidays we went to the Caboolture Historical village where we had a great day learning about our local history. We had the opportunity to have a tour guide where we were given a great insight about the yesteryears and we also given the opportunity to be locked up in hand cuffs by ex wardens from Bogger Road goal. We spent hours looking through hundreds of relics, we loved the experience.

10.01.2022 Had a great morning today out bush walking with some lovely young people. It’s great having the opportunity to take people out of their comfort zone and explore new places and engage with them learning about each other along the way. John Oxley Park was a lovely local park which we didn’t know existed until today. Looking forward to our adventure on Friday swimming at Petrie dam.
