16.01.2022 Gday its Susie here, I dont know about you but with more and more people wearing face masks these days Im finding it can be very difficult to communicate and hear people clearly. 16.01.2022 Gday, its Susie here. Sometimes you talk with someone and long after the conversation is over their words carry a lasting impact. Over my media career I have had the absolute pleasure of interviewing one-on-one some of the worlds most entertaining and accomplished stars, including the charming and drop-dead gorgeous George Clooney.... But it was internationally celebrated mime-artist Marcel Marceau, whose words about the Art of Silence, that really stayed with me. After all, what is said is so much more than the words that come out of our mouth. Id love to hear if you have had a similar experience. Or maybe youve met someone famous? Feel free to share your story in the comments below or email me at [email protected]. Bye for now, x Susie.

Make sure to check out Mental Health Australia for more tips and advice.

14.01.2022 For those with hearing loss, face masks can be a real communication barrier as they make it much harder to read facial expressions. So if youre wearing a face mask and talking to someone with hearing loss, remember to : Slow down and try not to talk too fast Move to a quiet place if you can Use hand gestures when speaking as they can be really helpful... Articulate your words and try not to mumble Use an alternative communication method such as texting if possible #CovidSafe #HearingHealth #CommunicationTips

07.01.2022 Gday, its Susie again. Lets talk today about the battle of the batteries. If you wear hearing aids like me, Im sure youve found yourself in all sorts of tricky situations where your hearing aid batteries may have let you down just when you needed them most.... Working in live TV and radio, this used to get my heart racing, I can assure you. Fortunately those days are behind me, because I now wear Marvel hearing aids. Theyre rechargeable so no more batteries!! Thats just one of the many reasons why my Marvels are so marvellous! I recharge them every night and they give me a full day of hearing, including streaming from my devices. Whats not to love? But before my Marvels, Ive had my fair share of battles with batteries, thats for sure. I cant begin to tell you how many times Ive dropped them in the middle of changing them and often theyre nowhere to be seen. Why doesnt that happen with the old batteries just the new ones. Hope you enjoy this latest video where I share what happened when I was live to-air on 2GB & 4BC and my batteries ran out. How about you, have you found yourself in any sticky situations due to your hearing aid batteries? Id love to hear your experience in the comments below, or you can share your story or photos or videos with me at [email protected]. Take care...bye for now, x Susie
