24.01.2022 Thanks Building Blocks Therapy - a great way to understand why some children (and adults) find it more challenging to regulate

16.01.2022 Millie is a very special friend, I’m so proud of her business that she has set up. She has also pivoted to now supply the current mask making situation. Have a look on her insta page for the range of colours!
16.01.2022 We have been so glad we can journey with our amazing families and support during this challenging time. There have definitely been highs and lows. We love that so many families have reached out and shared where they’re at from a personal perspective. There have been some opportunities for children and families to enjoy the slower pace and for others this time of online learning has been fraught with high stress and pure disaster. As always we are working to be innovative and ...flexible and this will be the case for the support we can offer as we prepare for when children can go back to school when the time is right. I can’t thank my amazing team enough (Keeleigh, Emma, Sacha, Lauren, Vanessa, Skye, Aisling, Amelia, Simon and Ollie) for all of their support, dedication and flexibility! We have never worked so hard and the benefits have never been more rewarding.
16.01.2022 This was shared by my friend who is a Paramedic, might be a good sensory alternative
16.01.2022 A fabulous thought Thanks Building Blocks Therapy
14.01.2022 In light of the Government updates, just a reminder that we have to remain Telehealth only until we can move to stage 3 restrictions. We are so thankful to have been able to support so many amazing children and families through this time At that point we can offer limited face to face sessions on a priority needs basis. We will be working to transition back to face to face and resume school sessions as soon as possible!... We hope you are keeping safe and sane.
12.01.2022 Look out for our interviews in #theaustralian and #thecanberratimes next week as Ollie and I represent Connecting OT and OT Australia and discuss our articles (that are to being published in the OT Australia magazine) around helping families cope with lockdown and helping to think about the transition back to school and work whenever that may be! Personally and professionally this has been a challenging time yet there have been many silver linings, we hope this is the case for you too
12.01.2022 Whilst this seems to be all about hand writing, in actual fact we are working on so much more! As OT’s we support children’s mental health and ability to feel good about themselves through directly targeting functional skills that may be causing frustration and angst. This may be skills such as writing, how to make and keep friends, the physical skills needed for play, their ability to emotional regulate through the expected and unexpected and many more.... We are so great for be able to support so many families through this difficult time, we love nothing more than being able to make a difference in someone’s life Channel 7
12.01.2022 A great overview of why sensory regulation and sensory diets are so important for us all!
10.01.2022 Here we have our amazing Keeleigh working away with her companion Ollie A big thanks to Keeleigh as she has been especially patient and meticulous whilst we have been experiencing some accounting IT issues Please reach out to us if you are missing communications (eg invoices)!... Keeleigh and Kate’s brains sync at all times and like all of our team we couldn’t do it without her!

05.01.2022 Even though we are not returning to school right now these 4 steps still apply. Particularly having communication and a visual plan are always important. Also being a detective and being flexible with what happens next! All the best and never hesitate to reach out if you want to chat further

02.01.2022 The follow-up guide to the (very) popular ebook "Normal Life Has Been Disrupted" is now available! Developed by Lorrae Mynard, this new guide The New Normal: N...avigating Everyday Life During COVID-19 explores ideas and prompts for reflection to help tailor a new normal that’s right for you. Please note that as regulations continue to change across Australia, we encourage people still experiencing stricter lockdowns (particularly our friends in Melbourne) to refer to the original ebook. The original guide discusses the impact of COVID-19 on our daily life and presents suggestions for of how to adapt and manage disruptions. Freely download and share both guides here: https://otaus.com.au//the-new-normal-navigating-everyday-l

01.01.2022 Now more than ever.. https://awarenessact.com/stop-teaching-children-to-never-b/
01.01.2022 Time will tell what the next steps are, we hope that all our families have a safe and calm transition back to school when possible. Change and uncertainty are often anxiety provoking, remember this is actually a natural reaction and we need to be kind to ourselves and realistic about expectations
