24.01.2022 Support local! Visited the Joondalup Resort, Used my social club membership and saved more than what it costs to join the Connolly Residents Association for a year in 1 night ! Great atmosphere and fantastic staff ! Thanks Joondalup Resort , for the first time in many months having a cold beer with a mate amongst other patrons, TV sports in the background felt so good! Happy Days and a great way to start a weekend !

22.01.2022 HAZARD REDUCTION BURN- JOONDALUP RESORT - CONNOLLY City Of Joondalup have issued Joondalup Resort with a Permit to Burn within their privately owned site situated at 210 Country Club Boulevard , Connolly. The Permit is valid between 31st July and 30 September 2020.... There will be no burning over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd August 2020. Burn off will be controlled by the Wanneroo Fire Department. The purpose of the hazard reduction burn is to reduce fuel loads by predominately targeting Grass Trees to reduce risk of bushfire occurring that could result in damage to nearby properties and assets. Joondalup Resort are responsible for notifying property owners and occupiers of the hazard reduction burn date(s) as part of the requirements of the Permit. 22.01.2022 Last meeting for Year of 2020 What a fantastic turn out for our last members meeting for the year of 2020. What a year it has been. ... COVID-19 hit us all in March 2020 and we needed to learn new ways of doing things. Social Distancing- Hand Sanitization and the need to be more aware then ever before. ZOOM Meeting, Teams, Skye and Messenger/Facetime became the rage to conduct business and to just catch up with friends and communicate. We all started working from home or were house bound to stay safe! Despite all the hurdles and disruptions the Connolly Residents Committee has continued to hold committee meetings, We continued a business as usual approach but in a different format. Connolly Links still maintained publication. Website, Facebook was regularly updated as it become a way to communicate quickly. As soon as we were possibly able we encouraged our members and welcomed new members back to the Connolly Community Hall as we were able to host meetings again in the second part of the year. Our achievements this year was great: Memberships at an all time high - we now have in excess of 372 members! This is fantastic given Connolly only has just over 1400 households. Face Book Page Likes has grown to 645 with over 700 followers Connolly Links growing from strength to strength and advertisers at an all time high Invitation to guest speakers to address the community of Connolly on topics and issues happening at our doorstep. Memberships became online with EFT Payments We invested in new technology so we could support and communicate with our members and stakeholders better. Community Event - Connolly Clean up Day when we were able to remove over 35 bags of rubbish from Connolly. We will continue to do this in 2021 but we need your help! We need you to encourage neighbours to join and become members, if you feel you could add value to the committee step forward and get involved. We have lots of different roles and new people bring new ideas. Connolly Residents Association was incorporated in 1994. 26 years later its still going strong. It is because of you and the hard work the Connolly Residents Committee does, this continues to be recognised as one of the best residents associations around. We welcome you all again next year but remember to do your bit. Encourage ONE extra person to join the Connolly Residents Association and/or come forward and apply to be part of the committee in 2021.

And of course, the Ocean Reef Marina Open Day Sunday the 16th August, 10-4pm at the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club

18.01.2022 Please be advised that the next burn occurring at Joondalup Resort tomorrow will occur between 5pm 10pm tomorrow 25 August 2020. The forecast wind direction is SSW turning to the S between 8pm and 10pm. The last section being burnt is closer to the freeway side, so we are hoping that residents wont be too affected by the smoke too much, but there still is a chance. The winds are forecast to be about 18kmh so hopefully this will dissipate the smoke

08.01.2022 "The City have been advised by DFES that they are planning the first burn to occur at Joondalup Resort this Thursday, 13 August, from 12 00 to 20 00 hours. They envisage burning the western cell and middle cell that was quoted per the attached map. DFES have also confirmed that they will only be burning grass trees and given the forecast weather, they are expecting the smoke to disperse to the North East.

07.01.2022 Understanding the Importance of protecting our Natural Areas and Parks for all the wildlife that live within is a message we need to voice. These areas are not to be used as BMX tracks or trekking trails. The damage it causes to wildlife and the vegetation is huge. Natural areas is home to many insects, plants and animals including , birds, lizards, snakes , spiders to name a few. Please educate your children and visitors to stay outside the fences and to use the walk trai...ls and paths I hope this brochure provided by the City of Joondalup will help you understand it better and assist when discussing it with your children. City Of Joondalup has made a big effort over many years working with support groups to improve many areas around Connolly and with the City of Joondalup for all of us to appreciate and enjoy. We want to ensure future generations get to see what we have enjoyed in our lives living in such a beautiful place like Connolly is a gift to have such natural areas around us! I know together we can help to improve this in our suburb!
