25.01.2022 On the 11th Sep, 10 amazing, determined souls started a trek up the mountain. 5895m we all knew what we were after. We all knew it would be hard. But to get our 10 to the top was ultimately the most amazing feeling, tears at the top, tears seeing our two last Trekkers fighting the way to the top. A feeling that will carry us through anything that we find difficult. We did this for us, we did this for Max, Finlay and all the other kids fighting a battle so many don't fight. life is a gift

19.01.2022 This Sunday we are trekking through the Bickley Reservoir Trail! Will meet at 1045am Bickley Reservoir Walk Trail Distance: 3.2 kms - 1 - 1.5 hours Location: Upstream of the Bickley Reservoir in Wattle Grove.... The signs are pink. Trail Notes Start point: Car park off Hardinge Road. Leave the car park past the playground. Will be there at 1030 to meet and greet in the carpark before we set off! 13.01.2022 Lingy and I have been looking for somewhere to train and acclimatise before going to Marangaru to Climb KILIMANJARO and we found it at HATARI lodge Tanzania {Arusha national park} this lodge was owned by Hardy Kruger from the movie Hatari and also starred a little known actor JOHN the duke WAYNE, I think we will do out best to have a good training time. Life is a Gift

09.01.2022 Well after being home for sometime now and waiting on stat decs, I have submitted our world record evidence to the Guinness Book of records, to all who played footy up there well done,it was soooooo bloody exhausting doing it after the climb and I know we all felt it on the way down, whatever the outcome be proud of what we achieved up there and know that we have that record, 5775 mtrs great effort team. 03.01.2022 Ok Kili Trekkers here is the trip list of what you will need,yes its going to hot at the start and yes its going to be BBBRRRR cold up there so please look closely at the list and shop wisely. I have added a few things today. 1] BOOTS I use KEEN Targhee hiking boots they are Goretex and fully waterproof. you want them to cover your ankles too.... 2] Socks, Proper woolen hiking socks,they not cheap but worth it,remember you will not be having a shower for 8 days so take a few pairs or turn them inside out lol. 3] Short and long Hiking pants,also goretex and waterproof. 4] Jacket, once again Goretex there are lots out there go find one that's comfortable and light, you will be keeping this forever so get a good one. 5] Thermals, North face make good ones,you will be sleeping in these as it maybe a bit chilli in your tent at night unless you have someone to snuggle up too lol,what goes on KILI stays on Facebook remember. 6] Balaklava and beanie, Micro fibre ones are good. 7] Gloves and inners,I have the Gloves sorted,Performance on Hand are getting these for us ssooooo a huge shout out to them,Thank you Sharon and Damien Wright . 8] Walking poles, telescopic ones are good and light,get used to using them unless you are like kingo and a mountain goat. 9] Headlamp Black diamond make really ones,get two sets of batteries for them 10] Sunscreen,Lip balm and sunnies are a must. 11] Polar Fleece jacket 12] long sleeve t/shirt 13] Gators, mainly for the decent, these are not imperative. 14] Lightweight backpack, Deuter or Similar make good ones, you will be carrying your camera, snacks and some clothing in it. 15] Water bladder,make sure its got good insulation as it may Freeze up there, also a good quality water bottle. 16] Water Purification tablets or battery operated device. 17] Self inflating mattress and pillow, these will be your best friend. 18] Light weight Sleeping bag with a - degree rating, this is very important 19] Small Binoculars for sightseeing. This list will be added too so start getting yourself in the zone and go shopping. Go the PIES
