25.01.2022 Porcini excitement, how to identify (in my excitement I refer to them having spores instead of gills but I meant pores..from which reproductive spores are released & spread by wind or water), and where to find them and upcoming wild mushroom forages with us. Finding porcinis as part of these experiences is not guaranteed but make sure you're on our email list and have liked our page to hear more when tickets become available. Numbers will initially be restricted to 10 so places will fill fast.

23.01.2022 This article has interesting parallels with wild edibles both native and introduced here. The same applies to micronutrients. The five primary nutrients: protein, iron, vitamins A and C and zinc are often abundant in plants native to areas of the developing world where malnutrition is rife but western foods are favoured. "It's really getting them to look and learn what their local plants are because often they are much more nutritious than introduced ones,"

22.01.2022 Important stuff by Uncle Bruce. Once again highlighting the sophistication of pre European Aboriginal land management. I would add that not all species like fire (cool burns). Our once remnant Gondwanian ..and rainforests are not supposed to burn and never were. And climate change, plus reduction of transpiration through clearance of native vegetation has exacerbated the issue of volatile regrowth.

21.01.2022 WILD... Naturale.. Earthed.. OPEN... Post frigid shallow creek swim Post incredible long weekend Teacher Training intensive Post my first sweat lodge in the Stalking Wolf Vision Quest Tradition where we were taken on a journey and encouraged to face & drop limiting beliefs that were holding us back.. And step into our true power. (A power quest not a full vision quest..but I feel this is coming) Post building then activating the sweat lodge with other Teacher Trainers in sacred ceremony over 1.5 days and a night Post.. Beginning a weaving project Learning about wilderness first aid and risk and a chat about soul clients program development, authentic marketing and the business of serving those we are uniquely set up to serve. Post A journey from South Aus that felt like a crossing over.. I've been so incredibly challenged (and still am) ..and so deeply held by mother.. earth I believe there is nothing more important than connecting in with the earth, to help connect with ourselves, to clarify and live with purpose & stay grounded in these times. How are you staying connected with the earth? Is it a struggle for you? Perhaps I can help.. Watch this space, and follow me over @lifestyle_by_tiff on insta. for more on this soon.

21.01.2022 Great story on Aboriginal cultural burning practice in Qld. I'm not sure exactly how this translates to our South Australian environment but I know the opportunities/ conditions to undertake these practices are reducing as it gets hotter and dryer. And the hands on task is very large ie in remnant areas that have not been burnt for a long time, where fuel loads have built up, and cooler burns are harder to achieve. But this does not mean we shouldn't try! As, if we don't manage these long unburnt areas, we run the risk of losing them or having their biodiversity decimated in catastrophic bushfires anyway. And areas that have been burnt out by hot uncontrolled bushfires need managing for fuel loads & biodiversity & soil moisture retention too. Check out the links in the comments FMI and opportunity to support this work in NSW & Qld.

19.01.2022 I have been arguing the need for the protection of biodiversity since I learnt about the full extent to which we were destroying it whilst studying ecology at university. Its time we got real about the fact we rely on the health of our natural ecosystems for survival in many more ways than one. And that we stop living in the Unlimited Growth economic paradigm reality denial bubble. Clearly its not serving the vast majority of us any better than its serving our biome, Tiffany ...Schultz "The assault on ecosystems that allowed COVID-19 to jump from animals to humans went far beyond merchants hunting and selling rare wildlife. Biodiversitythat is, the health of the entire ecosystemcan restrain pathogens before they ever leave the wild. We need to tell people right now that there is a series of things we need to do once we’re out of this mess to make sure it never happens again, Hannah says.

17.01.2022 Got up and read a few little poems at #TatendaOpen Great Southern Gathering last night. Havent read poetry in public for a long time/ hardly ever but Ive recently been finding my insta posts morph into poetry whilst trying to express how I feel about nature and I recently found my book of poems from maybe 15 years ago. Plus MC @_peach_poet_ encouraged anyone wanting to read and Zac et al provided such an incredible space & set up for it. The first time I ever read poetry was... at the Adelaide Fringe Club then run by Higher Ground in maybe 2002?? ..and i remember feeling like I'd stripped naked on stage. Poems don't always have to be deeply personal but they are a great opportunity to be your true vulnerable self. To express deep vulnerability we need to see and hear more of in this world, especially now. And after I read my poetry last night, including a very sexy vulnerable # so many people came up to me saying how much they enjoyed, were struck & even turned on by it... And I connected with many I otherwise may not have, in a deep beautiful way. Thanks so much to Zac @_peach_poet_ et al for making it possible. #poetrynight #deepconnection #vulnerability #communityconnection #deepnatureconnection #wildforagingtours

16.01.2022 Update from Tiffany..

16.01.2022 Apologies for our lack of activity here for a while. Covid put a spanner in our in person event plans but has lead to a deepening of our training in nature connection. Check out this update from Tiffany..and please like and share if you would like to hear more..(perhaps slightly more concise) updates . Facebook is not nice to small operations that don't post cat videos or very often. We appreciate your support.

14.01.2022 So passionate about this. In other news, sorry we've been a bit quiet here. A lot has happened since covid hit. I am undertaking a transformative Deep Nature Teacher training and development program based in NSW to expand Conscious Lifestyles offerings further into deep nature connection. We may be relocating temporarily but we will keep in touch online and hopefully develop some resources for you too. Stay tuned. Tiffany

11.01.2022 A great list of all the things I've been thinking about and more to do at this time. I'll be foraging eg to collect rosehips, blackberries and more, making some fire tonic, elderberry syrup, kombucha, kraut, taking other immune boosting herbs and supplements and working on my garden. LET ME KNOW if you want to see videos and get more info about these or similar things here and join me on instagram @lifestyle_by_tiff as well where I mostly post in stories little pieces of info and inspo. Oh and most importantly I'll be grounding and connecting with nature too. Stay tuned here and on insta for more about that too. Love your way, Tiff.

07.01.2022 Deep nature connection is not a luxury. I would argue in this day & age with our penchant and ability to negatively effect the earth, rediscovering and deepening our connection with nature it's a necessity.

07.01.2022 A post by Tiffany on her current nature connection practices.. Apart from being enjoyable, these practices can help restore personal power & clarity, manage stress, anxiety and fear, and us to connect in deeply with nature. If you like the sound of this, we are developing an online course over 4-6 weeks?... We would love to hear if you are interested, why you are struggling and what you would like a course like this to do for you. Your feedback is much appreciated. Also make sure you are signed up to our email list for more info when the course is open. Have a great weekend.

06.01.2022 Dear FB friends, Despite the uncertainty I'm heading off Tuesday to complete my powerful Deep Nature Teacher Training in Glenreagh NSW with Nature Philosophy. ...Its been a difficult journey so far mainly due to CV ever changing restrictions (I've already had to self isolate for 2 weeks upon returning from 1st onground training) and dealing with fear around my movements being restricted and embracing change & uncertainty. But I also believe bc of all the fear & uncertainty in the world right now, this indigenous wisdom informed work is more important now than ever. I would greatly appreciate if you are able assist with a few things - I need to borrow or buy (a ground tent and/ or poptop tent that would fit on a Forester) and I need a short term tenant to RENT my Goodwood cottage Air B & B style for 2-6 months. And I need a reasonably priced handy person and someone to prune the garden. Thankyou in advance. Here are some highlights of my first onground training which I will explain more about soon. This work is for my own personal transformation to help me step more fully into my power and connection with nature and life, but also because I want to improve my ability to hold this space for others. So watch this space. I have so much more to share about this challenging and exciting journey. Please keep an eye out here, on instagram @lifestyle_by_tiff and over on my page Conscious Lifestyles.

04.01.2022 Amazing stories of resilience and survival from Dr Peggy Rismiller. One of the many incredible ecologists that have dedicated large portions of their life to studying wildlife on KI

02.01.2022 So distressing. May we learn the lessons that this horrible fires are here to teach us. In all their rage and fury. Caused by some big failures in not acting on Global Warming by our current government LNP - Liberal National Party (altho Labor is not far behind) and a litany of small bad decisions. One thing is for sure, Mumma earth is angry..and its high time we started to listen. I can only imagine the horror of having my home neighborhood/ district gulfed by an inferno like this. And i weep for the animals.. I will post a link to a water ritual you can do to help in the comments from a northeast Arneham Land Aboriginal elder I have spent time with.

01.01.2022 I've tried 3 times ..to write this post. I've written about the conflict I feel being on a beach holiday in beautiful Robe whilst the country burns. My brother was called on to pull an all nighter to help contain a fire near his property at Lochaber 2 days before new year's eve. I was shocked to hear him talk about that experience and that was nothing cf what is/ has gone on elsewhere. ... I shudder thinking of the trauma people have suffered in the fires, and the suffering and loss of our precious irreplaceable native plants, animals and ecosystems, especially the fire sensitive ones. The thousands of koalas who have died in total over a third of the population on the east coast. The threatened species, plants and animals, populations, communities and subspecies that will now become extinct. And the individual animals and plants that will now die a slow death from starvation because of loss of food sources or predation due to loss of habitat shelter and hiding places etc. etc etc. But I chose this photo with a smile of hope on my face after I had been sitting on the beach with my hands on the earth, communing with her. She felt disturbed but also steady, fired up but also resilient, agitated but still giving, all knowing and wise. So my hope for this year and this decade is that we take stock and listen. That ea and every one of us hear the wisdom of the earth and their own hearts, they take action, make positive change wherever they can, nothing is too small or insignificant. Everything helps from the ground up. And that this momentum spreads like wildfire as we reduce the impacts of global warming, biodiversity loss and decreasing access to water and make our land, climate and communities more resilient and regenerative. And that this heart driven action and love for the earth ourselves and others, not fear, motivates our actions. Mother earth is always here for you, ever patient, ever loving, ever teaching, ever wise. Even if those lessons at times seem harsh or even cruel. And I am here for you if you need a guide to help you develop your own nature connection practice. My Deep Nature Connection program is coming in 2020. I originally said December but realised I can't say exactly when as it needs to flow from a place of inspiration and embodied knowing.. and that is coming. There will also be more wild foraging experiences as this is one of my favorite nature connection practices. If you would like to know more, message me your email address and or sign up to my email list via the link in my bio.. ..and make sure you're following me on Facebook #ConsciousLifestyles for updates as well. Happy New Year everyone. #deepnatureconnection #wildforagingtours
