25.01.2022 An inspiring and significant event at "Good fire for country" gathering with Firesticks alliance, in Mullumbimby last night. Positive messages on how we need to reconsider landscape management in regards to fire. Looking to incorporate this in future project management and keep learning. Ancient knowledge that we need to re-learn and utilize. Important to make connection between property owners, managers, conservation industry, government and indigenous organisations working on country

I am very excited to share my updated website for Conservation Connection Consultancy. Facilitating connection between landholders, government, community, industry associations and country to conserve our natural areas. Particularly critical in recent times to protect and restore our landscape for soil, water, fire and Biodiversity values. We need ...to work constructively, together, to address current challenges and embrace opportunities in the future. Have added video, new project profile, blog section and more Please have a look and share to interested parties. Thanks for your support! See more

05.01.2022 On finishing reading 'Fire country' by Victor Steffensen I am left feeling inspired. A great quote from Victor, regarding resilience. " When we look at defeating weeds it is important to put all of the focus on the natives (plants). So many people make the mistake in life of focusing on the problem instead of the strength of our original self and wellbeing. The same thing goes for the country: don't focus on the weed, focus on the natives. When we manage the country for the n...atives, then we favour them to outcompete the weeds. The land has an immune system, just like us, and when we activate it to make it strong, it will fight the causes of sickness. The land needs people to connect this way to activate the process......" Such an important concept in Ecological Restoration, he takes it further, regarding resilience of people and culture. Of course they are intrinsically linked. See more
