25.01.2022 This evening 5 glorious humans sat and spoke about their last two weeks. We spoke about all the things that were making us sad, angry, tired, energised, happy, fearful and excited amongst many other things. Also a big thank you to the 13 of you that have bought The Lachy to support these groups. Our appreciation is huge xx... ________ #stayconnected #mentalhealth #menscircle #ruok #melbournementalhealth #mensmentalhealth

24.01.2022 Creating a space for male identifying folk to talk about their emotions, feelings and experiences in a complicated world

24.01.2022 The Lachy was designed by local artist Ed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lachy (the real one) and Ed are both creative folk who were searching for inspiration and found it in each other. Lachy, an incredibly talented local singer/songwriter, wrote Ed a funky, feel good, jazz tune and Ed created this beautiful piece of art. Listen to Lachy's beautiful song here: The Helpful Husky By purchasing this T-shirt you support men to attend a free session with the CT Men's Circle. To fi...nd out more, please head to our website www.constantlytraining.com Words by the Muse (Lachly) The Men's Circle is an outlet, inlet and place to hold space for me. Going to an 'only boys' school through puberty, I feel this kind of vocalisation and support not only didn't exist but also wasn't encouraged. Like many males, I've previously relied on females for emotional support in my times of need, which is great but having this second outlet has been great for my mental health and drives my passion for open communication. What's the worst that could happen? You cry? I hope you do - it feels great! Words by Ed (The Artist) "The covid-19 pandemic has created a level of uncertainty and anxiety that has never truly been experienced before. Mens circle has given me a space to build strong and healthy relationships with men and taught me the power that comes from holding space and truly listening to the people around you. In these dark and scary times, having an outlet to express how I’m feeling without the fear of burdening others has been an imperative part of my coping mechanisms. I’m so glad to be a part of not only this collaborative project but also a community of men willing to grow and learn together." Staying with the theme of supporting local people and local businesses, we reached out to Brunswick based Northside Merch, an independent printer. The T-shirts are made by AS Colour using organic, quality cotton. AS Colour rated an overall grade of A- by The Baptist World Aid in their Australia's Ethical Fashion Report 2019. #tshirt #fashion #design #mensmentalhealth #local #supportlocal #melbourne #stayconnected #mentalhealth #menscircle #ruok #melbournementalhealth #mensmentalhealth

23.01.2022 Here at CT we have been talking about this design since we began. We wanted to create something that represents our view on masculinity. We sent out a brief to local artists asking someone to create an image that showed a masculine presenting person adorned by beautiful lingerie. We got a whole heap of designs and we chose this incredible piece. The artist is the hugely talented Briana MacDonald, you can find her work on instagram Briana.illustration. Briana has given our vis...ion her quint and delicate touch and created a magical T-shirt. As with all out tees you will find it on super soft organic material with a Regular fit, crew neck 100% combed organic cotton (marles 15% viscose) on Quality cotton grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides - GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified Neck ribbing with twin needle stitch, side seamed, shoulder to shoulder tape, double needle hems, preshrunk to minimise shrinkage. We are currently running a pre-order for this T-shirt. We are aiming to have it on you by the end of the year. #constantlytraining #stayconnected #mentalhealth #masculinity #melbourne #melbournementalhealth #men #clothing #fashion #masculine #diversity #inclusion #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtq #genderlessfashion

19.01.2022 Well here we are, the forth ISO gig for your hearing pleasure. Join us on Instagram live whilst we work towards the new normal and hopefully real life gigs in actual person very soon! _______________ Join us on Saturday 20th September at 7pm (Melbourne time) where we will have 3 outstanding artists performing in support of men’s mental health and CT Men’s Circle. So grab a cold one, put on some fancy shoes and party like it’s Covid normal! Here are your artists: _____________...__ Dominique @dominiquexmusic Melbourne-born musician Dominique has no stage persona. There is no filter, no mask, no allusions to an alter-ego. All is laid bare, and all is true. A veteran performer, her unique musical style places raw, expositional lyrics over ballad chords and pulsing beats. Hypnotic melodies reveal darker lyrics - an exploration of the feminine in all its harsh realities, with songs detailing accounts of assault, abuse, and emotional and relationship turmoil. No punches are pulled and no adversary is spared from retribution. This is music, but it is also catharsis. -- Tom Walker @teawarl Tom is a Melbourne based singer/songwriter and guitarist. His music is lo-fi garage rock, mixed in with pop hooks. He has spent the last ten years playing some of Melbourne’s most notorious dive bars. -- Oscar Galt @oscargalt After the dissolving of his bands Oscar Galt and The Eventual Somethings and Yes Yes Whatever, Oscar Galt has been a sight seldom seen. Years of playing around the vibrant Melbourne music scene had left Galt weathered and in need of a sabbatical. -- #stayconnected #mentalhealth #menscircle #music #supportlocal #ruok #melbournementalhealth #mensmentalhealth #men #iso #livemusic #stayhome #melbourne #geelong #livemusic #stage3 #tunes #music #strongertogether #flattenthecurve #covid19 #covidnormal #isolive4 See more

Sliding into the realms of indie-folk with a sprinkle of pop/rock, Stress Walters’ music is crafted by Jess to nurture & blossom human connections. Brennan’s newest outing ‘The Grimwoods’ is an eclectic art punk project. Together, the duo will share songs, stories and poetry (Also works from Jess’ upcoming book Recipe For Mud.) Wardlaw Brown @wardlawbrown Wardlaw Brown is the stripped back project of multi-instrumentalist Lachlan Brown. Just one human, their guitar and raw emotion in the form of mellow, folkish ballards. During this instalment Wardlaw Brown may invite some of his amazing housemates to share in the fun and stories. Leslie D King @leslie.d.king_music Hailing from Cobden, Victoria, Leslie D. King illuminates the everyday struggles with family, friends, the search for identity and everything in between. With every nakedly honest lyric and every growling strike from his guitar, he evokes intense emotion in the stomachs of his audience. This band has such high energy that brings gospel like choruses and catchy country hooks, nurtured by warm backing vocals and a wholesome horns section which will keep you trembling and shaking all through the night. #stayconnected #mentalhealth #menscircle #music #supportlocal #ruok #melbournementalhealth #mensmentalhealth #men #iso #livemusic #stayhome #melbourne #geelong #livemusic

13.01.2022 Well here we are, the third ISO gig for your hearing pleasure. Join us on Instagram live whilst we await Mr Andrews announcement that we may be close to doing these gigs in actual person (but shhhh let’s not jinx it). Join us on Saturday 5th September at 7pm (melbourne time) where we will have 4 exceptional artists performing in support of men’s mental health. So grab a cold drink, put some fancy clothes on and dance like everyone is watching. Here are your... artists: Tom Stevenson @tom.stevenson_ Tom Stevenson’s songs are windows into depression, relationships, imagination, life & fatherhood. His live sets are an emotion fuelled snapshot of a boy forced into maturity, jumping from sombre heartfelt songs into an angry, distorted mess Michael Hood @michaelraymondhood Michael Raymond Hood is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Hood combines ambient, mood-setting musical beds likened to film scores with unsullied vocal performances compared to the great Jeff Buckley. Hood's unique combination of understated and honest lyricism, gripping live energy, raw vocal talent and instrumental prowess have garnered him high acclaim amongst those who have witnessed his few solo performances. Rach Brennan @rachbrennanandthepines Rach Brennan captures the spirit of learning to be alive. Joined by her band ‘The Pines’ the unique outfit channels Rachael Brennan’s experience of rapture and heartbreak expressed through her music. Embracing the honest as well as the dramatic, RB&TP continue to evolve and subvert the narrative of their roots pop origins. Emily Suckling @emilysucklingmusic Hailing from Torquay, Emily Suckling delivers a sweet, earthy sound well beyond her years. The multi-instrumentalist writes authentic alternative/folk songs, singing with heart-on-sleeve honesty that harks back to the great female folk singers. #stayconnected #mentalhealth #menscircle #music #supportlocal #ruok #melbournementalhealth #mensmentalhealth #men #iso #livemusic #stayhome #melbourne #geelong #livemusic #stage4 #tunes #music ##strongertogether #fla

09.01.2022 I also thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Adam, I’ve been facilitating group work in many facets for longer than I dare to admit. I have a huge passion for youth work and providing people an opportunity to explore their experiences, opinions and community. I have been a residential worker, a youth worker, a social worker, a support worker, a turkey farmer (don’t ask) and many other things. What has been at the core of all my professional work is compassion, non-judgeme...ntal practice and empathy. I have experienced the lowest of lows and the highest of highs and I’ve caused people to feel both myself. I owe myself and others to understand our impact on both ourselves and others. I have started this group with an aim to help male identifying folk to connect with similar people. I find that as men we often reach out to womxn to talk about our emotions and often get amazing support and guidance (thanks ladies). What we often don’t do is reach out to men who could be experiencing, or have experienced, the exact same thing. We also, as men, play this game of we are ok in front of other men. It becomes so toxic that we are unable to then see the same pain in our friends. We can do better, we can do better for ourselves and our friends. And we must. If you’ve read this far, firstly thank you, secondly something must have resonated. Get involved, tell me something about you and your journey in the comments below See more

08.01.2022 Introducing "The Lachy" Just click the product tag to get yours today!! One T-shirt pays for one person to attend the Men's Circle

02.01.2022 The beautiful second T-shirt of our collection is here! We have now taken delivery of this tantalisingly trippy piece of art. Order yours today whilst they are still at their most potent. The artist: I created this as a card for my psych-nurse roomie Joe, as his birthday like many of ours, had been banished into lockdown. So after having watched a few doco’s on the therapeutic effects of Psybicilin, and Joe being a front line advocate, I thought this would be a fun and b...right card to bring us both some fungi perspective during isolation. Joe is a constant inspiration for men's mental health not only through his work as a psychiatric nurse but because he embodies how an open perspective, playfulness and joy for pushing limits can create our own sense of freedom and adventure. But also he enables those he’s around the same sense of freedom to be who they are too. Acting as a constant reminder with his cheekiness and compassion the fun of a colourful outlook when shared with others. What’re my thoughts on the men's circle: I believe that every person deserves the space, to be held and heard, by those they most identify with. And I love that there exists a culture where even those who don’t identify the same, can still help hold space and support one another. This is a community of male identifying folk who are conscious about our impact on society and giving other men the opportunity, space and empathy to share their experiences. With some very specific issues at the moment, community has never been more important. COVID-19 brings new challenges both in society and with our mental health. Reach out to a friend and ...be there for each other. #mensmentalhealth #menscircle #mentalhealth See more
