06.01.2022 We’ve been shifting towards positive credit reporting for some time now. Most major banks and financial institutions have been recording information about accounts held, credit limits and monthly repayment history for the past year or two. But there is a more recent development to be aware of. NAB is reportedly recording mortgage repayment history on credit files now. The remaining major banks are set to do the same within the next 6 months. This means prospective lenders will potentially have access to the last 2 years of mortgage repayment history. While it'll be a blessing for some, it might prove a predicament for others. Only time will tell.
