We are still finalising the fundraising (and convict donations are still coming through!) but we have well and truly beat our fundraising target with the tally now sitting at $104,000! These funds will make a huge difference to our charity beneficiaries!

The net proceeds will be shared among our beneficiaries Reflections Through Reality Foundation, Rotary Club of Mount Lawley, Cystic Fibrosis WA and Diabetes Research WA, so your donation dollars will be doing wonderful things! 15.01.2022 HIGH PROFILE PROFESSOR RAISING CHARITY BAIL Former WA Chief Scientist Lyn Beazley has signed up to head behind bars and raise a hefty bail to ensure her release from Fremantle Prison ahead of this years Convicts for a Cause cocktail fundraiser. Now in its eighth year, the Wild West Edition of Convicts for a Cause on Saturday November 5 is in 2016 helping to fuel the charitable efforts of Diabetes Research WA, Cystic Fibrosis WA, Reflections Through Reality Foundation, whi...ch supports mesothelioma research, and the Rotary Club of Mt Lawley. Professor Beazley, who is the patron of the Reflections Through Reality Foundation and was WA Australian of the Year for 2015, is already receiving high-profile support, with WA Governor Kerry Sanderson making a hefty contribution to help Lyn escape from jail. Professor Beazleys grandchildren are also selling hand-made bracelets to contribute to her fundraising tally. "Being behind bars will be a new experience for me and I am particularly looking forward to my release! I am thrilled to be part of this event. It is such a terrific way to support charities that, through world leading research and support programs, are changing lives for the better now and into the future, said Professor Beazley. Event coordinator Alison Dalziel said Convicts for a Cause was set to be a unique experience this year with a number of other well-known faces also signing up to be part of the night. We are thrilled to have Professor Beazley on board for this year and weve also snared Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitts involvement; hell actually be one of the key stars of this years event, play the role of mayor of the fictional western-themed town that will be the setting for the night, she explained. To add to the fun, Perth radio personality Steve Mills will act as sheriff as he hosts the night so were putting out the call for as many West Australians as possible to support this important fundraiser in any way they can.
