23.01.2022 Huge congratulations and thanks to everyone who participated in Paddle Against Plastic on Sunday 22 February at the River Canoe Club at Tempe. What a fantastic community event. So much rubbish collected! Look forward to the time when clean-ups are no longer necessary and the Cooks River is healthy and pristine for all to enjoy.

Inner West Council completed community engagement on the current & future vision for the Marrickville Golf Course lands and the Dibble Avenue Waterhole, an important wildlife habitat which has been used by the Golf Course since the 1940s for irrigation. People voted for one of three options regarding the golf course configuration. 01.01.2022 Healthy, mature trees in the Inner West are under threat. The Inner West tree canopy needs to increase from 20 to 40%. The latest version of the Development Control Plan (DCP) has reduced the 3m automatic removal rule to 2m with a permit. That permit would still allow most trees in that zone to be pruned or removed without Council consent.Say NO to this DCP amendment. IWC TREE SUBMISSIONS CLOSE 11 DEC.
