06.01.2022 How's your Salt Cell? We have been treating a lot of pools lately that are turning green due to the higher temperatures and a lack of chlorine. One of the causes can be a heavily calcified Salt Cell, as shown in the pictures below. When the Cell is heavily calcified, it cannot make chlorine. If your Cell is getting calcified quickly, it may be due to a number of factors : 1) High calcium content in the pool water 2) High pH of the pool water 3) Higher water temperatures... We recommend professional water testing and keeping your pool water balanced at all times. We recommend cleaning the Cell in 10 parts water to 1 part BioGuard Salt Cell Cleaner, and treating the pool with BioGuard Salt Pool Stain & Scale Control, which stops the calcium setting like concrete on the cell. Salt Pool Stain and Scale Control can also stop calcium scale forming on your pool surface, for instance at the water line.
