23.01.2022 Over the last couple of weeks we have been enjoying short walks to the new bike park. This has given us the opportunity to practice and learn the road rules. As an extension if this learning, the children have been doing some fantastic recall drawings, recalling their favourite memory of the walk and what they have learnt. Today the Children Incorporated some roadsigns into their play in the sandpit we had lots of fun. This certainly was the place to be . We would like to take this opportunity to thank our local council for their initiative in building the bike park. It is a wonderful community resource which helps children learn the importance of road safety.

22.01.2022 Once again thank you to Tom and the boys at Snowy Mountains Tree service for your prompt and professional service. Tom and the boys arrived and quickly removed and cleaned up a branch that had blown down in the wind. Thanks Tom for always keeping our playground safe.

20.01.2022 Happy Early Childhood Educators Day! Thank you so much to all the staff for everything you do. This year has been tough but you have all gone above and beyond to make sure our kids are happy, having fun and always felt welcome. We can not thank you enough. Enjoy your morning tea.

20.01.2022 The Preschool Fundraising Committee will be holding a Christmas Raffle as the final fundraiser of the year and we need help from all preschool families! We have 10 prize baskets/hampers to fill. Some ideas of items you can donate are; Packaged, non-perishable, festive foods (Christmas cakes, puddings, chocolates, sweets, shortbread, wine).... Small gifts (children's toys, hand creams, scented candles etc.) Christmas items (bonbons, table or tree decorations, Christmas books or craft etc.) Vouchers to shop at local businesses Next time you are out shopping please think about buying something for the Christmas raffle. Please bring any donations to the preschool by Friday 20th November. Thank you

15.01.2022 It's that time of the year again! Lambie Street Preschool's annual Mango fundraiser is back! $25 per tray Orders close on Thursday 29th October. Expected delivery date is between 4th - 11th December.

14.01.2022 The children have been really enjoying making creatures utilising our pine cones from the front garden. This open ended experience has provided the opportunity to encourage self expression, hand eye coordination, finger dexterity, creativity, enhance decision making skills and tactile stimulation.

12.01.2022 Today the children enjoyed Chicken Pasta. We thought as it was so popular we would share the recipe. 500g chicken 2 to 4 rashes of bacon 1 to 2 shallots or 1 onion 1 packet of pasta ... 1 jar bechemel sauce or 1 to 2 cups white sauce 1 to 2 cup grated cheese Cook chicken until brown remove from pan Cook sliced shallots /onion and bacon Combine above with cooked pasta white sauce and 1 cup grated cheese Place in casserole dish top with remaining grated cheese and bake in oven until cheese is melted Optional add mushrooms and cook with Shallot’s and bacon Add baby spinach when combining all ingredients ENJOY! 09.01.2022 We were very lucky today to have a visit from Jack and Kate’s poddy lambs, we loved getting to see your lambs and learning all about them.

09.01.2022 During our last week of preschool for the term we will be having a fun week. Each day we will be cooking with the children. Monday - Sausage sizzle Tuesday - Vegetarian Pasta Wednesday- Chicken pasta Thursday- Toasted sandwiches ... Friday - Puffy hot dogs Don’t worry if your child’s lunch box comes home uneaten, they will have enjoyed our preschool cooking. We might also enjoy some special treats and activities along the way. 08.01.2022 We have been achieving many learning outcomes as we explore winter at preschool. The children have been researching polar animal facts and have completed some amazing drawings. The children have been observed in some wonderful dramatic/role play in our Antarctic area with our new ice blocks. We also have been practicing our fine motor skills threading snow and ice to hang from the ceiling. Don’t forget to have a look next time you visit the centre.

08.01.2022 A huge big thank you to all the wonderful parents and staff volunteers who helped us complete stage 1 of our garden rejuvenation at the recent working bee.

08.01.2022 Thank you to Mark Kenmir & Co accountants for their donation of $1,500. This generous donation has allowed us to purchase some new large building blocks for our outdoor environment. These blocks will provide our little architects with many hours of fun.

08.01.2022 As part of National Child Protection Week, Lambie Street Preschool today joined the live stream of Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson presented by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. The children really enjoyed this short presentation and some wonderful, rich group conversations followed. Preschool Parents - attached to this week’s newsletter is the Child Safety Lesson Parent Guide that provides more information about how to talk to children about personal safety.

06.01.2022 The children have been very busy over the last week creating their drawings for the current crazy camel fundraiser. If you have not yet seen their artwork and would like to prior to ordering please see staff. Orders are due this Friday, 6th November.

02.01.2022 Our amazing igloo is finished, complete with a bottle top door. Amy and her little helpers have been very busy over the last couple of weeks. Well done! It looks fantastic, now for all the fun play to begin! Thank you to everyone who donated milk bottles for our project.
