25.01.2022 A fantastic day was had by all at the 60th Anniversary of our club today. We had a wonderful celebration with some reflection upon our accomplishments, but mostly fellowship and a bit of frivolity as is our custom. The attendance of Lions from over 10 clubs in our district is testament to the reputation of our club, and it was heart-warming to welcome back Charter Member Bryce Peddie, who is still a Lion 60 years later! Welcome to our new members Leanne and Shane, what a g...reat time to be joining our club! Congratulations to the special award recipients today. We were honoured to recognise some of our most outstanding members : John Britton- Melvin Jones Fellowship Bill Keefe - Life Membership Chris Reeks - Life Membership John Neilson - Life Membership Russell Fox - Life Membership and 50 year service Medallion. Lee Riley - Leadership Award from Lions International President. Our new life members join lion Tony Mackenzie ( also a Melvin Jones fellow) in that prestigious category of membership due to their distinguished service of over 20 years. See more

24.01.2022 We are proud to have kicked off a donation campaign at the District 201N2 convention to donate funds to the Australian Lions Foundation to be used for disaster relief for those affected by the current fires and any that occur in the future District Governor Gordon Matthews and Sergeant-at-arms Lion Darryl Hay pictures with a cheque from Cooma Lions Club of $2,000 to kick off the District collection. The collection is now at $10,000! Way to go District 201N2!

24.01.2022 COOMA LIONS SUPPORT LETTERS TO SANTA Children from Cooma and the Monaro now have an opportunity to write a letter to Santa before Christmas. The children should write their letters, address them to Santa at the North Pole and they should be delivered to the Cooma Post Office. No postage stamp is required; rather Cooma Post Office has set up a SANTA MAIL Post Box for the letters. Under this 19-year cooperative program between Cooma Lions Club and the North Pole, Cooma L...ions Club has undertaken to act as Santa’s agent to deliver the letters to the North Pole; and as in previous years, Santa will reply to all the letters. Children can write whatever they like, for example they can tell Santa about their past year, and perhaps what they are hoping for as presents. The only essential requirement is that the letter includes their name, age and address. Photograph: new SANTA MAIL post box at Cooma Post Office

23.01.2022 Cooma Lions getting ready to feed the drivers and volunteers who are arriving with 10 road trains of hay and good from WA to supply those in crisis on South East NSW. 22.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Foundation supporting those affected by the bushfires. Since the bushfire period commenced, the Foundation has all...ocated to areas impacted nearly $600,000. This has allowed Lions on the ground to support those areas in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia by providing food, water, clothing, essential household needs, whitegoods, replacement water tanks and other items. Every areas need is different and Lions are able to make that support happen. More help will be needed and your donations will allow the Foundation to provide further assistance for immediate needs and then be able to help in the longer term recovery of those communities. 10.01.2022 Some members of our community have been wondering where our snowmen are... normally this time of year, the Lions club would have installed these guys on the roofs of Cooma businesses to bring some winter cheer to locals and visitors alike. Unfortunately, for Winter 2020, our snowmen have elected to stay in #COVIDsafe isolation. These are unique times and health and safety must come first!
