12.01.2022 The Coomba Aquatic Club and Sailability NSW are pleased to advise that work on the replacement of the jetty at Coomba Aquatic Gardens has been completed and is available for use by the public. The work was undertaken by Pacific Pontoons Pty Ltd, a specialist company in the design and construction of jetties and pontoons. The works included removing the old timber jetty and moving the old floating pontoon to a new position adjacent to the new pontoon. This provides an additio...nal platform which will be used for sailing boats, dragon boats and small recreational craft such as kayaks and canoes. Both pontoons are now connected by wide aluminium gangways to new concrete abutments on the shoreline. These are much wider and stronger and will allow easier and safer access to the pontoons. The new concrete pontoon is supported by large piles which results in less lateral movement when the wind and waves are strong. The former pontoon has been changed by our crew of volunteers so as to make a longer, straight pontoon which is now supported by two large piles. This work is valued at $275,000 and is part of the North Coast Inclusive Aquatic Facility project which is being constructed at Coomba Aquatic Gardens and is funded by the NSW Government through the Regional Sports Infrastructure Fund. Construction of the multi-use room is expected to begin when all relevant approvals have been received. This will be built on top of the $400,00 boatshed that was recently built by Coomba Aquatic Club and in which the Club, Great Lakes Sailability and Wallis Spirit Dragons store their boats. See more

06.01.2022 An enjoyable morning today for Junior Sailing with 11 juniors and a few adults getting out on the water. Big thank you to Joanna who did in the water coaching and skippered a Hobie with various crews during the morning. Light wind but quite good for some of the younger participants. Next Sunday is our monthly Aquatic day and we will start with junior sailing at 10am and then general sailing at 11am.... Look forward to seeing you then. See more
