19.01.2022 May we be committed to freeing the world from the virus of hunger, freeing neighborhoods and nations from the virus of poverty. May we hope for schools where students are taughtnot terrified they will be shotand for the gift of personal dignity for every child of God, unmarred by any form of racial, ethnic, or religious prejudice. "Undergirding all of this is our relentless hope for greater devotion to the two greatest of all commandments: to love God by keeping His counsel and to love our neighbors by showing kindness and compassion, patience and forgiveness. These two divine directives are stilland forever will bethe only real hope we have for giving our children a better world than the one they now know. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

17.01.2022 Dear Members of Coomera Stake Please find below guidance from our Multi-Stake COVID Specialists and our Area Seventy Elder Maurer ======================= URGENT UPDATE =============================... COVID RESTRICTIONS GREATER BRISBANE AREA AND REST OF QUEENSLAND The Queensland Government has announced a 3-day lockdown of the Greater Brisbane area effective 6 pm Friday 8th January 2021. The Greater Brisbane Area includes the local government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan. Meetinghouses located within the Greater Brisbane Area All Church meetinghouses are to close during the lockdown period. All church services including sacrament meetings, institute and other meetings are cancelled. Meetinghouses located outside of the Greater Brisbane Area In some circumstances, a Ward boundary may traverse Local Government Areas. In this case, members residing within the Greater Brisbane Area are not allowed to attend any Church service or other Church activity. Meetinghouses need to be secured during services and during other activities. A mature member should be located at the meeting house entrance (prior to and during the entire duration of the services) and the meeting house should be kept secure until after all members have left the meeting house. The details of members attending should be recorded (the ward list is preferred over QR codes). It is recommended that the ward/branch membership list is used for this purpose with additional visitors recorded manually. People who have visited the Greater Brisbane Area Wards are to be extra vigilant when allowing people to attend Church services or Church activities. If the person has visited or resides in the Greater Brisbane Area, or any other hotspot in the last 14 days they are not permitted entry onto Church property. Members who live outside the Greater Brisbane Area, but have visitors staying with them who have travelled from the Greater Brisbane Area in the last 14 days, should also remain at home rather than attend Sunday services at a meeting house. Please check the Queensland Government Website for the latest information on the lockdown. https://www.qld.gov.au//current-/greater-brisbane-lockdown As always look to err on the side of an abundance of caution as emphasised by President Nelson, especially for those who, as mentioned, have units that traverse stated boundaries, but also for those that may travel across these boundaries, as anyone stopping within these affected areas also immediately become subject to the restrictions.

16.01.2022 We are delighted to advise the resumption of Food and Indoor games at the chapel for our Youth, amd YSA/Institute Only. Regular Sacrament Meetings.

05.01.2022 Dear Coomera Stake family The Stake Presidency note the extension of recent COVID restrictions to the Gold Coast from 8am today, Saturday 29 August 2020. As it stands, it will not affect our Sunday meetings. You will be informed through your Wards should there be any changes to this status.... The Stake Presidency are grateful for your obedience, courage and adaptability in the face of the constant changes. Please ensure that you follow our Stake COVIDsafe plan with exactness when attending meetings at our chapels. In our desire to show an abundance of caution, and as an additional precaution in our Stake COVIDsafe plan, we invite members who would feel more comfortable wearing a mask to do so. Our continued ability to gather in our chapels is reliant on our compliance with State Government directives which have been incorporated into our Stake COVIDsafe plan.

02.01.2022 Heal the World Some have felt the sting of being considered ‘the other’ or ‘the lesser.’ It seems to me that such attitudes have increased in the world around us in recent years. . . . Nothing could be further from the teachings of Jesus Christ than for any human being to think of himself or herself as somehow superior to another human being based upon race, sex, nationality, ethnic origins, economic circumstances, or other characteristics.
