06.01.2022 Fundraising Event for Shannon Hollibone Shannon Hollibone has been a member of NSW Police Force since 2009. Shannon transferred to Coonabarabran Police Station to perform duties as the Lock Up Keeper in May of 2014 with his wife, Nikki. Unfortunately, in December of 2014 Shannon received the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer and was given a life expectancy of six months after the cancer had spread throughout his liver, lungs and colon. Shannon at...tended Sydney for treatment where he was subject to radiation and chemotherapy. During his treatment Shannon and his wife would travel to and from Sydney on a week on, week off basis. Shannon would attend Coonabarabran Police Station for duties for the entire week he was in Coonabarabran during the middle of his treatment. In 2016 Shannon was awarded a Rotary Customer Service Award for his dedication and commitment to New South Wales Police Force. Since his diagnosis, Shannon has undergone countless surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Shannon has turned up for work at Coonabarabran after every treatment showing great dedication to NSW Police, the Coonabarabran community and his work colleagues. Unfortunately, in 2020 Shannon’s health again deteriorated where he was admitted into Hospital and received further news that the cancer has spread throughout his bones including his skull, jaw and ribs with no treatment options available. On Tuesday 28th July 2020 Shannon was the proud recipient of a Commissioners Commendation for Outstanding Service. Sadly on 30th July 2020 Shannon passed away leaving behind his beloved wife and fourteen year old daughter, Mackenzie.
