25.01.2022 The Shed is set up and ready to go Monday! The Saturday morning gang are demonstrating how we maintain a safe 1.5 metre gap between all participants while we are training. There will be work stations marked out on the floor to ensure people can easily keep the gap! Please listen to the coaches and be Covid safe at The Shed! One final note - a slight alteration to the new timetable will be a 5.15 pm start on Wednesdays and Fridays. All other weekdays will be a 5 pm start. See you Monday folks!

23.01.2022 Coonamble fit time table

22.01.2022 Folks, how good has it been having our gym open again! As members and visitors, your actions and behaviour can help us keep it that way. We really need everyone who comes to The Shed to be super Covid 19 safe. We have in place social distancing protocols, capped numbers for classes and strict cleaning protocols. But we also must insist that if ANY member or visitor has traveled to or through a designated Covid 19 hotspot in the last 14 days, they MUST NOT attend our classes until they have observed a 14 day isolation period. This essentially means any part of Victoria or the Greater Sydney area. If everyone does the right thing we will be able to keep The Shed open and servicing our fitness community. If you have any queries about this please contact us via this Facebook page. Thanks heaps!

19.01.2022 Coonamble Fit Folk, as you are probably aware by now, NSW will be enforcing a shut down of non essential services within the next 48 hours in an effort to combat the spread of Corona virus. It is highly likely that this will include gym facilities like ours. At the moment there will be no general sessions open to members or pass holders at Coonamble Fit from tomorrow (Monday March 23). The committee will meet tomorrow to make some decisions on the way forward from here and... keep you posted. We will look into the possibility of sharing some DIY WODs on the FB page for people to do at home. We will also explore the possibility of small groups being able to borrow a key to access the gym to use the facilities during the shutdown. But above all we need to operate within the federal and state guidelines and regulations that will come into force. The sooner we beat this bug the sooner we can get our amazing fitness community back on track with face to face training. Stay tuned and stay safe guys. See more

15.01.2022 Put a big circle around Monday July 20 in your calendars punters and dribblers - Coonamble Fit will reopen The Shed from 5 pm Monday July 20! New timetable, new programming, same vibe! Stay tuned for more updates over the next two weeks!

15.01.2022 Something to try when The Shed reopens!

13.01.2022 Hey just a update for teams this Wednesday due to COVID restrictions we are at full capacity and can NOT take anymore participants so the updated teams list will be on the white board this afternoon, please be there for briefing at 5pm for a 5:15pm start. Thanks

13.01.2022 Coonamble Fit Folk, due to the overwhelming popularity of the strength sessions that Wattsy has been running at 5 pm Tuesday and 6 pm Thursday, we have decided to run these sessions at 5 pm AND 6 pm on BOTH days. All other days will remain the same with a more traditional functional fitness - metcon style workout. To avoid the overcrowding that has been occurring on strength days, can we all try and spread ourselves out between the two classes a bit more on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That way there is plenty of gear and plenty of floor space to go around and we all get a good hit out!

11.01.2022 A huge shout out to one of our most consistent and dedicated members - Cub. When Cub walked through the doors of The Shed on January 14, 2019 he tipped the scales at a hefty 151.9 kg. As you can see in the photos (second one taken October 21, 2020) Cub has made quite a transformation, losing an incredible 41.9 kg! In January 2019, many of the movements and WODs we do at Coonamble Fit were impossible for Cub. He now runs with the best of us and can smash out pull ups, rop...e climbs and handstand push ups. Cub is an absolute inspiration to all of us who train at The Shed and is a true example of what can be achieved through discipline, hard work and consistency. The health and fitness journey is actually quite simple - but it's not easy... Well done Cub! If you want to make Coonamble Fit part of your your health and fitness lifestyle drop down and try a free introductory session with us any weekday from 4.45 pm onwards. See more

04.01.2022 Quick update for the Coonamble Fit community out there... The committee had a meeting this morning and it has been decided that we will aim for a full, unrestricted opening of The Shed on Monday July 20. This is the first day back at school after winter school holidays. We have opted not to re-open prior to this with the 10 person capped limit due to the difficulties associated with instituting a fair and workable booking system within a volunteer run organisation such as... ours. Based on the current rate of restrictions being lifted, we are fairly confident that by holding off until July 20 we will be able to reopen basically in a "business as usual" manner. Should the situation change significantly between now and July 20, we will reassess our plan and keep members up to date via this Facebook page. Until then, keep working hard at home! See more

04.01.2022 With the Covid 19 "SuperBug" currently on the loose, Coonamble Fit will implement the following procedures to keep our members safe whilst still letting you continue to work on staying fit, strong and healthy! (1) If you are sick, please don't come to the gym and put everyone else at risk. Stay at home until you are feeling better. And if you have any underlying health issues that may make you more susceptible to infection, we would ask that you seriously consider refrainin...g from training for the moment. (2) For newbies who are keen to start their fitness journey with us, please just wait until this is all over and then come and try. At the moment we are focused on working with regular members and pass holders only. (3) Avoid direct contact with other members whilst training - aim for the 1.5 metre gap, no high fives, kissing etc. (4) Disinfect hands as you come into and leave the shed - dispensers are on the wall as you come through the roller door. (5) Practice good coughing hygiene when you have that post WOD exertional cough! (6) Disinfect all barbells, dumbells and rig bars following use. (7) Now more than ever, plan to take at least two to three rest days a week when you don't attend the gym. Your body will thank you and your training partners will thank you! (8) If you are looking for some workouts to do from home, contact us via Facebook or hit us up when you are at the gym and we will give you some WODs to try at home. (9) If you aren't training, please don't just turn up to the gym to "hang out". There will be plenty of time to catch up socially once this is all over. (10) If you have travelled overseas recently, please observe the compulsory 14 day isolation period and do not attend the gym in this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and respond accordingly. Above all guys - stay safe and stay well! The Coonamble Fit Team See more

03.01.2022 Hey Cool Cats and Kittens of the Coonamble Fit Community! Under a week now until we reopen the doors of The Shed. A few reminders and updates for you... => Working Bee starting at 0830 this Saturday, July 18. Clean up and re set up the gear. => If enough people are around we will have a sausage sizzle around midday to refuel the tanks after the working bee. => Doors open at 4.30 to 4.45 pm Monday, July 20. => Please check out the new timetable here as there are a few chang...es. => WODs will now START at 5 pm and 6 pm SHARP. That means you need to have your arse to the grass by 4.50 pm ready to start at 5 pm. This is 15 minutes earlier than we previously started. => The plan is that this will allow the 5 o'clock class to finish around 4.45 pm to 4.50 pm and then do a "Covid Clean up", ready for the 6 pm class. => IMPORTANT NEW RULE! To avoid exceeding our maximum number of people for our floor space, 6 o'clock people are to stay off the black mats until all the 5 o'clock class has finished cleaning up and has left the matted area. => Given our new timing, this should be achievable. => Please respect this as we need to be able to demonstrate that we are doing the right and responsible thing! With the resurgence of Covid infections in Sydney and Victoria, gyms will be very closely scrutinised! => Wattsy has added in some strength based sessions twice a week now for people who want to work on strength and have a break from MetCon days. The idea isn't for people to do both sessions on these days, rather to slot them into your normal weekly routine as part of a more sophisticated programming strategy, allowing an element of rest and development of specific skills. Six sleeps to opening day! See you on Saturday at the working bee! See more

02.01.2022 For those "more mature" Coonamble Fit athletes, this is a very well written, balanced piece on Crossfit for those of us getting to around the 50 mark.

01.01.2022 Some more ideas around staying Covid 19 safe at the gym!
