15.01.2022 To celebrate International Youth Day today we want to give a shout out to Zen! Zen attends school in the City of Port Phillip and is currently an active volunteer in our FReeZA committee. When Zen is not busy coming up with innovative ideas for our FReeZA program or studying hard for her year 10 SACs, Zen is participating in a challenge called Live below the Line. As a student ambassador for anti-poverty movement Oaktree, Zen is eating meals that cost under $2 a day t...o help raise awareness about poverty, and to ensure all young people around the world can thrive. Zen feels compelled to help because she has the ability to do so. Zen acknowledges that when her family migrated to Australia, they experienced extremely tough conditions and had a taste of poverty. She continued to point out that she realised that so many other children are permanently living in even worse situations. For fun Zen spends her time drawing for her art club (see the amazing picture above) AND makes animal clay pins! Zen admitted having a lot of free time on her hands due to the lockdown, so started to create. Zen showed the FReeZA committee her clay pins and inspired others to get creative and have fun while they were in lockdown/isolation. Thank you Zen for contributing to our Port Phillip community and inspiring other people to help out globally. Well done! #internationalyouthday #celebratingyoungpeople #thetalentgamebestrong
