13.01.2022 Need KK ideas? Take 2 is perfect for fellow word nerds Loved working on this alongside Caitil Shielzwil

11.01.2022 I have a confession. I haven’t been showing up in enough places. Alright, I’ve known this for a while, but recent events have really highlighted it.... If you’re a small business, you’ve probably heard about Google’s threats to block Australia from accessing the search engine. For those that are late to the party, I’ll sum up the debacle: Australia said, hey, we think you should be paying our media companies for sharing their content. Google said, nah, we’ll block your access to Google if you’re gonna do things like that. (Ok it’s a little more complex than that, but you get the idea). Anyway, it got me thinking. And researching. And watching @katetoon chat about the subject. I’ve invested so much time and energy into building my Copy Circle Instagram and Google ranking (thanks to the @recipeforseosuccess). But if I woke up tomorrow and there was no Google? My business marketing would rest entirely on Instagram. And that’s not ok. Because then? All my eggs would lie in one teeny, tiny Instagram basket. So the lesson here? I need to diversify. Fast. So in the coming weeks? I’ll be putting a little bit more time into my Facebook and LinkedIn. Maybe I’ll look into a regular newsletter for my mailing list. Maybe I'll even awkwardly join Tik Tok, or weasel my way to a club house invite. Maybe I won't do *all* of those things. But maybe, in time, I will. All I know is, I've gotta do something. Can your small business relate to this? Will Google’s threats encourage you to diversity a little bit, too? 03.01.2022 You see this ice cream right here? I paid $7 for it. For that price, my dollar would have gone further if I'd bought my own cones, picked up a gourmet variety from the supermarket, constructed my own and *then* taken it down to the beach (and done this 10 times over until I finished the tub). ... But guess what? I don't wanna do that. And nor should you. That’s the beauty of outsourcing. I could scoop my own ice cream... But am I gonna scoop it as well as the person that scoops for a living? Am I going to pack it to perfection to ensure no scoops escape? Will I have more time to sit and enjoy my ice cream if I just got someone else to do it? Heck yea. And the same goes for business. I speak with so many clients who outsource their copywriting to me... Not because they *can't* write. But because they'd rather focus their energy on the stuff that counts. Like enjoying an ice cream on the beach.
