21.01.2022 The Australian society of Ear, Nose and Throat surgeons has advised that all elective ENT procedures and consultations should be cancelled with immediate effect. We are exposed to high levels of virus from the nose and throat and several ENT surgeons around the world have died or are seriously ill. On national advice we have temporarily closed the practice to protect the public, our patients, staff and myself. We will reopen when it is universally agreed that it is safe to do so. This decision has not been taken lightly and with careful, considered thought around the available evidence. You may still contact us via phone or email, please do not attend the rooms.
20.01.2022 A group of Yarrabah families are about to find life at home a lot easier, thanks to a free program healing ear disease in children. #9News | http://9News.com.au
19.01.2022 An increase in government funding and a nationwide refusal to accept the high rates of otitis media in indigenous communities could reduce the unacceptably high... rates of the disease, according to this year’s recipient of the RACS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Medal. Queensland ENT surgeon, Associate Professor Chris Perry said that despite years of effort by health professionals, the rates of acute suppurative otitis media (ASOM) remained shockingly high in indigenous communities with up to 90 per cent of Aboriginal children having conditions which may require surgery compared to only eight per cent of the caucasian population. 17.01.2022 We are gradually opening our Ear, Nose and Throat service again in Cairns, with guidance from the Government and the Australian Society of ENT surgeons. Thank you for your patience during this time. Extra clinics are being arranged and our staff are working very hard to organise appointments. A COVID-19 questionnaire will be given to you on arrival and you may be asked to attend a testing facility prior to your appointment. This is for the safety of everybody.
16.01.2022 Thanks to all of our patients, referrers, friends and colleagues, we are now closed for 2018 and will re-open on Monday 7th January 2019, we wish you all the best over the holiday period, peace, prosperity and good health.

15.01.2022 LIFE-CHANGING SURGERY: Sixteen children from Yarrabah had vital surgery today, that doctors say will be life-changing. The kids had been living with debilitating ear problems, something experts say is often left untreated in our indigenous communities.

05.01.2022 At Coral Sea ENT we've been very honoured to be involved with the largest ever single donation to the Cairns Hospital by local philanthropic couple and our good friends, Mr Alex and Mrs Violetta Sekler, to provide essential equipment to the tune of $650,000 to prepare for the fight against the COVID-19 virus in Cairns. An amazing contribution to the local community.

02.01.2022 Imagine a world without sound. Imagine negotiating everyday life without being able to hear or with hearing so impaired that every sound is muffled. How would ...this impact on your ability to communicate, learn and work over the course of your life? This is the future that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children face if ear disease - so prevalent in Australia's Indigenous communities - is not tackled. RACS, in association with the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and other partners in the #EarHealthForLife network are advocating for the establishment of a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hearing Health Taskforce that can provide evidence-based advice to Government. For more information, read the #EarHealthForLife booklet: http://bit.ly/2GXxtoq
