24.01.2022 A group of students in year 10 are participating in a weekly Robotics day at Macquarie Fields TAFE. In this lesson, the students had to program their robot to show something on screen, play music or sounds, drive forward, capture a brick and drive backwards, then turn left and drop the brick off to the left. The sensors also had to be programmed to recognise and respond to different colours. It took a lot of trial and experimentation to refine and improve the programs. The students are using the LEGO EV3 robot system.

22.01.2022 The students participating in the TAFE YES robotics program are continuing to explore the exciting possibilities that robots can bring.

05.01.2022 The robotics learning continues! The year 10 students participating in the YES TAFE robotics program last week learnt how to program their robot to measure and report on distance travelled. They then sent their robots down a broken pipe to detect the crack and report on how far down the crack was. This was followed by reacting to and going around obstacles, following a curved path, and the students are currently programming their robot to go around a hazardous building and calculate how much safety fencing will be required.
