17.01.2022 This is Mary the ‘fixer’ she is our agent on Misima Island and a dear friend to Coral Sea Kayaking. We first met Mary many moons ago on the exploratory kayak trip to the Louisiades. She looked after us like a mother and still does. Back then Mary was president of the local women’s association but now she is ward councillor which is a big role in the community. She is a passionate advocate for the Papuan culture and a staunch representative for the people. Mary plays a crucial... part in our operation in the Louisiades. She organises many of our logistics out of Bwagaoia our supply town on Misima Island where the remote dirt airstrip is that we use to access the islands. Mary has spunk and lots of ambition and is the busy bee around town, something that is rare amongst a generally relaxed island vibe community. Her caring nature and meticulous organising skills help to ensure a smooth transition from plane to kayak for our intrepid paddlers. We love you Mary #exploremore#travelpic#travelnation#expedition#lonelyplanet#natgeotravel#secretcompass#seakayakholidays#kayakadventures#radgirlcollective#shewhowanders#adventuretraveler

15.01.2022 Well that’s a wrap for the 2019 season Time to give the guides and the kayaks a well earned rest. 2019 was a ripper season, we ran 21 successful expedition trips and are excited for even bigger and better things in 2020. Many many thanks to our dedicated guiding team; Michelle, Abby, Ash, Nico, Judd, Ewie, Sophie and Jonesy. You are all legends ... And to all the paddlers who joined us this season, thanks for your fine company and good spirits, it really was a pleasure. We start off as guides and customers but we end as friends. All the best and Merry Christmas from Coral Sea Kayaking

04.01.2022 Unfortunately Covid 19 wrecked our April/May Louisiade Archipelago season and we missed out on visiting the lovely folks that call this paradise home. This photo is of John and Gwen who’s family has owned Panasia Island for many generations. Here they are happily showing off their new Luci lights that were generously donated by @follow_the_river and Luci. John and Gwen and all their extended family welcome us into Panasia after 8 days of paddling. Panasia is our end point an...d an impressive limestone island in a large turquoise lagoon. From here we load all our gear and crew onto John’s brothers large sailing outrigger and head home. : Yusef @ballaghblyth #exploremore#lonelyplanet#lucilights#travelnation#travelpics#discoverearth#staywild#offthebeatenpath#secretcompass#shewhowanders#radgirlscollective#natgeotravel See more

02.01.2022 Hello friends! Our Banana Kayak School is unfortunately running out of funds!!! Our school provides opportunity for up to 30 local kids and young adults from B...ubugo village in Uganda to learn how to whitewater kayak. With knowledge and skills they are more likely to get jobs in rafting white water industry, become sportsman or maybe start their own business one day. It really is a great initiative and is developing positive change in the local village and river community. We are hoping to raise some much needed funds to pay the kayak coach and maintain the kayak program and so are seeking generosity from the worldwide kayaking community and others who wish to help this great cause. By making a small monthly donation for a price of a beer or two you can help change the lives of these kids. So please help us to run and develop this very worthy charity and together we can not just ensure the Banana kayak school survives but through your generosity thrives. In return the kayak school will send you back many many good vibes and monthly video’s about the school and more. This way you will be able to see how your donations are spent! If you wish to help please visit our Patreon channel and read up on the options for donations. 100% of our charity funds go to the kayak school. Donation & more here https://www.patreon.com/bananakayakschool
