14.01.2022 A very big thank-you to everyone that attended the Comedy Showcase at the Forest Lake Hotel last Tuesday night. The night was an amazing success because of the efforts of Leslie King, all the amazing comedians: Desh, Fiona McGary, Andrew Nason, Kat Davidson, Mike Bennett, Mark McConville, Lindsay Webb and our MC for the evening Aswin Segkar. I would also like to extend a very big thank-you to the bar staff on the night. Their professionalism and effort was recognised and appreciated by everyone on the night.

As a published author, journalist, blo...gger and professional stand up comedian for more than 20 years, I have used and developed a wide range of strategies to incorporate humour and comedy into my writing. I use these techniques to keep my writing as engaging and entertaining as it possibly can be, no matter what I am writing about (almost) or who I am writing it for. I'm holding a full day writing workshop in the WestEnd where I will be teaching the many techniques I use to enable me to write more than 10,000 words per week of engaging, emotive, entertaining, and at time educational content across a wide range of different genres, publications, issues and audiences, for more than 20 years. Its been said that comedy is the best way to break down barriers and actively connect with an audience. No matter what style, genre or audience you are writing to, comedy can assist you to better captivate, entertain and/or educate them. So if you write for a living, or just for satisfaction, this great fun class is the perfect environment to familiarise yourself with the nuances of incorporating the right amount of appropriate comedy into your writing no matter what the topic or the audience. We always have loads of fun and people come out equipped with many new techniques and strategies and often a whole new outlook and enthusiasm on how to better engage with their readers.
