24.01.2022 If there is no 'I can't' that leaves 'I won't', which is an active resistance usually run by fear or sometimes other negative emotions like shame and pride. All emotions are generated by thoughts and can be resolved and released by new thinking.

20.01.2022 CHANGE YOUR BELIEFS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE We each have our own set of uniquely evolved beliefs. Each belief is created from information about what is dangerous and can kill/hurt us and what keeps us safe. We start gathering this information from birth and by the time we start school many of these beliefs are set for life. That means, unless we accumulate loads of new information about what is good and bad for our survival, we will be operating in adulthood on what kept us safe... as toddlers from physical and social harm. What childhood beliefs are you still operating from? It's almost impossible to work this out because those rules are so deeply buried and accumulated at a very simplistic sometimes only physical level. You can only get a little insight into this by talking to older members of your family about what your parents were most likely to yell at you for and what they applauded when you were very young. But many other things fall between these two extremes and were created from the experiences you had without the feedback of important adults. You can get a little more insight from the things you hesitate to do (beliefs of what is dangerous will stop us taking actions) or make your heart race (for better or worse) when you hear about them happening to others. If it's near impossible to even identify our strongest beliefs we can do nothing to 'correct' them. Then the only path open to change our emotional state and the quality of our lives is to gather enough new evidence that outweighs the old. While you cannot take actions that contradict beliefs the first step is to watch others doing them and rehearse them in our imaginations. If you cannot even 'pretend' to do it you know how strong the beliefs are, so start on something easier.

Which means all prospecting for new staff is cold. To find staff capable fo cold calling from day one, message me about SIP. BEFORE THEY START HAVE AN EXISTING CRM FOR THEIR TERRITORY.... Research IS NOT prospecting. Plus if you don't know who the highest return decision makers are for your product your business is in trouble and having more sales staff will not help. If you don't have any historical data do the research yourself (great job for a virtual PA). You will need to give each new salesperson a list with personalised contact details (email + mobile phone) for at least 500 decision makers. Buying lists is not a cost-effective way to do this. IN THE FIRST 3 DAYS ON THE JOB TEACH THEM; 1. Clarity about what to say - a tested script and the permission to tailor it after they have used it 50 times. 2. How to run a diary - partition time on a daily basis to allow for prospecting at the most effective times across the week balanced between phone, face-to-face and email. WHAT ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA AND MARKETING? The business should have an effective social media engine that you are sharing to all your sales staff on a daily basis so they are not using that to hide behind.



11.01.2022 In preparation for a coaching session think about: 1) The facts about where your career/business/life is at and how that feels. Coaching is about change and a part of that is to clearly define the starting position, both the facts and the emotions.... 2) If you already have goals for the next few years, think about WHY you want these. Goals without solid why’s never happen. I also know that digging out the 'why' to be conscious about it is complex and is easier when guided systematically by a coach. Often people don’t have real why’s and if that is true for you we can work on that together.

To maximise your learnings focus on finding teachers/explanations who make sense to you. Don't give up on the topic, or worse yourself, go shopping for the right book/course/coach for you. If you are reading something and you don’t understand it, assume the writer doesn’t know how to present it well for you and find someone else.
