17.01.2022 COTTON For us hard working Australians it’s been Family owned and operated and quiet frankly our livelihood for generations upon generations. But to others, wel...l let’s just say it’s the old T shirt that’s missing a button at the bottom of the cupboard. To us cotton farmers it’s so much more then that! Australia is the fourth largest cotton exporter in the world. Our high quality cotton is the most highly regarded cotton in the word. This industry alone is worth more then 3 Billion Dollars to the Australia Export Market yearly. So its hard for most of us cotton farmers to see how dumb founded a lot of other Australians are towards this beautiful crop! Which quite frankly is worth so much to our Australian economy. Australians grow enough cotton early to clothe 500 million people!!! We as farmers work pretty damn hard to make sure you go to work with your nice cotton shirt and pants on! even your socks and jocks! for that matter. We aren’t water thieves, We aren’t water hungry irrigators. And we sure as hell aren’t fish killers. In fact we’re the most water efficient water users out of anyone! Water isn’t free for us! Neither is it for you to have a shower in! We save every drop! and we make the most out of every drop we have, Which at the moment is very little. Like it is everywhere else. For senators and independents to be shaming this industry, Shaming our livelihood, Shaming our way of life! makes myself and a lot of others quite crook in the guts! Cotton Australia, and us cotton farming families and communities don’t deserve to be named and shamed for producing this fine high quality crop which quite frankly is our way of life. It puts our food on our tables! Were just doing our job! Our bit to help the world. So Let’s get around our Cotton Growing hero’s, Lets get around Cotton Australia and lets show everyone what we as a farming community are really about! Show your bit of support!
