21.01.2022 FREE GREEN WASTE & GENERAL WASTE DISPOSAL Residents are encouraged to clean up your yard and drop off your domestic green waste to Stoters Hill. Tully.. ...Bells Creek.. Mission Beach.. Hull Heads.Murray Upper and Cardwell Transfer Stations AT NO COST. It’s a great opportunity to clean up outdoors in preparation for the cyclone season. Domestic green waste, up to a ute or trailer load, can be dropped for FREE year round for Cassowary Coast Residents! Residents can also drop off one load of general waste per customer, per day at no charge, year round! Commercial operators will be charged the usual fee. Transfer station opening times and full T’s and C’s are available on the council website. For more information, contact any of the Council Customer Service Centres on 1300 763 903.

The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently peaking around 10.30 metres during Tuesday morning with moderate flooding. Major flooding possible in Halifax this afternoon with the Herbert River at Halifax is currently at 4.67 metres and rising, with moderate flooding. The Herbert River at Halifax may exceed the major flood level (5.00 m) late Tuesday afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to continue for the area over the next few days.
