20.01.2022 Sharon Humphries is an experienced registered counsellor in Melbourne fuelled by compassion, curiosity and authenticity. Sharon grew up overseas and returned to Australia as a thirteen-year-old third culture kid where she experienced poverty, health issues and political struggles within developing countries. This shaped her permanently as she decided to work in a field where she could make a difference to someone; consequently, she started nursing and specialised as a criti...cal care nurse. A move into education followed and framed the discovery of her life passion always identifying the human in the role, not just their skills or role. Her role expanded into setting up educational training organisations to assist people in discovering their capacity and what they loved to do. It was in the health education sphere where Sharon first experienced the world of junior doctors in her role as a medical educator (welfare coordinator) and identified and assisted with their struggles with mental health conditions and issues surrounding comparisons, perfectionism, shame and concerns around continuing in medicine. This passion led to a qualification in counselling where she explored junior doctor mental health in her thesis. Since then, Sharon has worked with counselling individuals outside of the health sector and for those still in the health sector. Clients are referred often around issues of burnout, anxiety, stress and depression. To maintain her own mental health Sharon enjoys riding her scooter around the CBD of Melbourne and seeing her adult daughters live life to the full. She enjoys subscribing to the theatre, the ballet and the Brandenburg Orchestra where her soul is refuelled. Head to CounselMe.com.au to make an appointment with Sharon, or message us for more information! See more

05.01.2022 An attribution pattern is how you judge your partners behaviour through jumping to conclusions or through thinking through their possible choices - its the the story we tell ourselves. 04.01.2022 Niksen. Its a Dutch concept. It means spending time doing basically... nothing. The art of Niksen is spending time avoiding being productive or achieving, so putting aside time to simply BE rather than DOING. Find out more here: www.CounselMe.com.au/blog/thepowerofdoingnothing
