20.01.2022 Whilst we’re not open at the min, I thought I would give you some background information. Countryside Furnishers was established in 1991, at Merchant Quay on Pennygillam Ind Est, as a Family run business offering the very best in Carpets, Beds and Furniture. Opened by the founder Mr Richard Ilsley, with his two son’s Paul and Ian. Richard saw an opening within the gateway to Cornwall, for a Furniture store that could offer discounted prices on top named brands.... By 1994 they relocated to the entrance of Pennygillam Ind Est, into the 12,000 sq foot warehouse, of which to date they are still in today. Two years later they opened a second store in the town of Okehampton, situated at the entrance of Red Lion Yard run by Paul Ilsley. Now nearly 30 years on, they are still Family run, with Ian Ilsley now being the Managing director. The store has over 40 beds on display, from big brand leaders such as Slumberland, Silentnight, Rest Assured and Highgrove, along with Painted and Oak Dining/Living and Bedroom furniture, and Soft Furnishings. We also offer a great choice in our roll stock Carpets and vinyl flooring which we stock over 100 rolls, many with free fitting, along with the evermore popular LVT flooring. It’s not just beds, carpets and furniture that they offer, as you can find Lighting, Rugs, Giftware, Pillows and Duvets within their store. They have always run the free local delivery, so beds or furniture will arrive with a team of two, with the items placed in the room of your choice. Open 7 days a week, you’ll find from the moment you walk in to the moment your delivery is made, their friendly staff will help you all the way, giving you a complete service. So if you’ve not found or made a visit to their store(s), then we recommend in doing so, as it pays to shop local. I will be posting some deals when for when we get back into store. 05.01.2022 Good Afternoon, Following on from the government legislation. We will be open but unfortunately we won’t be able to welcome you into the store.... Carpet fitting which has already been booked in will still go ahead, customers will be advised to let the fitter in and then leave them to attend to the carpet, vinyl, LVT in the chosen room. We’re still offering our free measuring service. We will be accepting new carpet orders but this will be over the telephone or via email. Deliveries will still go ahead, as long as the customer is happy, we’re happy. So as from Thursday 5th we will shut our doors but we will be behind the scenes and here if you need us.
