13.01.2022 Pelvic Floor Exercises are not always about tightening, strengthening or being able to hold for longer. Some people need to learn to relax their pelvic floor. Our Women’s Health Physiotherapist Karine Meadley explains more.

12.01.2022 Many new mums struggle with their mental health, but not enough ask for help, others speak up, but the message is not "heard". 12.01.2022 What a difference 24 hours makes! Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 Circuit Breaker lockdown, Countrywide Physio will be closed to in-clinic patients for the next 6 days (19.11.2020 24.11.2020 inclusive). Our staff will be contacting all our patients with existing appointments on the above dates over the next few days to discuss options for remote treatment going forward including telehealth options via phone and video-chat. ... We have diverted our phones to allow us to work from home but please be patient as we may take our time reaching you as we are contacting our most recent bookings first. If you are unsure of anything or wish to make a telehealth appointment please feel free to contact us via our usual phone number (08) 8564 3399. As stated above, demand is high currently and our team is doing our best to contact everyone so if you are unable to connect with someone in person, leave us a message and we will get back to you ASAP. For more information about Covid-19, the current restrictions, numbers and testing locations we recommend the SA Health website here: https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//sa+health+intern/home/home

12.01.2022 Nuriootpa parkrun starts again 21 November 2020 just in time for summer!

12.01.2022 November is lung cancer awareness month. Physio led exercise can be an important part of lung cancer management. Countrywide physio have many options to support someone with appropriate exercises through their lung cancer journey, whether it be face to face exercise, telehealth, individual, group sessions or hydrotherapy. Give us a call to schedule a consult (08) 8564 3399 #lungcancerawarenessmonth https://fb.watch/1z0y0F-3FE/

12.01.2022 As you would have seen by now - all gym and recreation centers are closed for the next 2 weeks. This means unfortunately we have had to postpone our hydrotherapy sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for at least the next 2 weeks due to the temporary closure of The Rex Center and pool facilities. Our Atze Parade clinic remains open and regular appointments will continue - so if you have an upcoming booking don't worry we can still see you in person! ... We are asking all patients to wait in their cars prior to their appointment time and to *only enter the clinic exactly on their appointment start time* to minimize congestion in our waiting room and ensure minimal contact between patients. If you are unwell, have a temperature or have attended any of the locations/times listed on the SA Health website below please call us to reschedule your appointment on (08) 8564 3399 SA Health website: https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//contact+tr/contact+tracing We are hopeful that these closures will be for a minimal amount of time and as soon as we are able to re-open hydrotherapy classes we will notify our existing hydrotherapy patients. Obviously this will depend on the restrictions and advice provided by the government and SA Health and we are continuing to follow the best practice guidelines to ensure our patient's health and safety. If you are unsure what will be happening with your booking going forward or would like to follow up with a physiotherapist in person please call us to book an appointment on (08) 8564 3399 Stay safe and sending you all hope for a (quiet) but still Merry Festive season!

11.01.2022 Well that was short...but here's the good news: Countrywide Physio is open again! We are back up and running and open for all patients as of Tuesday this week (24.11.2020) with spaces available most days. So if you've been out DIY-ing up a storm or got a bit to into your home exercises then give us a call to book an appointment on (08) 8564 3399. ... We are so looking forward to seeing you all back in the clinic so soon!

09.01.2022 DIY face masks Hopefully many of you have seen the current SA Health guidelines on face mask use but just in case not check them out here: https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//protecting+your/face+masks All of our physiotherapists will be wearing face masks during treatments in alignment with the current guidelines for allied health workers.... The SA Health website has a link to a free cloth face mask pattern which is an easy place to start if you're keen to try your hand at making your own face masks. However, for those of you out there with a fabric stash and time on your hands who might be looking for something different we thought it would be fun to put together a handful of free face mask patterns here you could have a go with (and wear to your next appointment for us to admire!): - Sew Can She has a great list of 5 free patterns in different styles including the "official" pattern from a US hospital and a 'gaitor' style neck wrap + face mask which seems like a great hayfever shield! Check her out here https://www.sewcanshe.com//5-free-diy-face-mask-tutorials- - Look for some glamour? Got a few Christmas parties to attend but not wanting to risk the rona? Try Gertie's Glamour Mask including optional lace or veiling overlay to add some holiday pizzazz to the mix. She's also got a free PJ pattern on her website if you're keen for bigger sewing adventures! https://charmpatterns.com/shop/glamour-mask-free/ - Keeping it closer to home, Australian brand Style Arc has a terrific multi-size pattern which can fit a range of face shapes/sizes. https://www.stylearc.com//free-face-mask-sewing-pattern-f/ - Finally, if you think you'd prefer a pleated mask then this site has you covered, including a great step-by-step sewing tutorial with pictures to get you started. She also makes a good point about putting in elastic loops for your ears vs. elastic all the way around your head (cheaper! comfier!, easier! use less elastic = more masks!) https://www.diaryofaquilter.com//how-to-make-a-quick-and-e Some quick tips on face mask wearing - if the elastic/ties feel too loose you can tie knots to shorten them or (in masks with ear loops) grab another ribbon/shoelace/elastic/stocking/scarf etc. and use this to tie the ear loops together towards the back of your head as if they were able to go all the way around. This will tighten the mask and help it stay on. If your glasses are fogging up, make sure you have pinched the nose wire onto your nose tightly and add a couple of bandaids over the nose bridge to stick the mask down and ensure a good seal - this can help reduce glasses fog! Although we hope these measures can be relaxed further in time, we thought a bit of creativity to brighten your days in the meantime was in order. The team is looking forward to seeing more of you back in the clinic this week - show us your DIY masks if you have a go at any of these!

06.01.2022 Please be advised, as per the SA Health directive anyone who attends our clinic, including staff, clients, carers and family will be required to wear a disposable face mask. We would appreciate if you could bring your own! Thank you for your cooperation.

05.01.2022 Just a small reminder on correct mask use Hope your pets are enjoying the extra company at home today!

02.01.2022 Nuriootpa parkrun restarts again on 21 November 2020. Don't be fooled by the name. Many people walk rather than run the 5km, and even if you don't feel up to the full distance yet, there are other ways to get involved with this friendly community

02.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN! Countrywide Physio is open as we are an Essential Service. We have taken extra steps to ensure we are following all Government advice and infection control guidelines throughout our clinic to ensure the safety and health of all our patients and staff members. ... To reduce foot traffic and to minimise the amount of people in our clinic at one time, we are now operating on a "by appointment only" basis and ask that you only attend our clinic if you have an appointment booked. Please also note that as we will not have the reception staff available full time, but are taking phone calls when not available in clinic. When you arrive for your appointment could you please remain in your car until your appointment and then enter the clinic, this helps us keep the number of people in the space to a minimum. We are also offering Telehealth consultations for our injury management and musculoskeletal problems. Physiotherapists have a large toolbox of skills and are able to provide ways of treatment via video chat. If you would like to book an online consultation, please contact us on: 85643399
