25.01.2022 "As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life." (1 Timothy 6:17-19)

24.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: No public assembly tomorrow due to Victoria's Lockdown 3.0. But since it is still the Lord's Day, we will be worshipping from our homes and will hear from God's Word online. Join us on Zoom! Zoom Details: www.covenant.org.au/sunday-service... Order of Worship: https://tgvkehguyt.larksuite.com//docuscE8g8xhDO1vF4V6Aglb (Our worship service and doctrine class will both be streamed to our Facebook page as well.) We have a modified order of worship designed to maximise our time with our households. Pop in the Zoom meeting at exactly 10:30 AM tomorrow, and we will guide you and encourage you to spend some time singing Psalm 87 with your family (or alone with the LORD!) before we listen to the preaching of God's Word. We will also give you some more time after the morning service to pray, sing, speak to each other, and have lunch before our 1:30 PM Doctrine & Devotion class. After which, we will break out into discussion groups. Please pray that this lockdown does not last long. May the Lord have mercy on His people!

22.01.2022 Last Lord's Day, we began our new sermon series on Zechariah, an exciting book about God restoring His people and establishing His Kingdom.

22.01.2022 Ministerial ordination is the church's affirmation of a man's gifting and calling to the pastorate. In ordination, a man is set apart and commissioned to shepherd the flock through the ministry of the Word and the administration of the sacraments (Baptism and the Lord's Supper). The church does not confer the office to a man, nor does the church ultimately decide who becomes a pastor. The church's role is one of affirmation. This is not to say, though, that the church's role is unimportant. For it is the church alone that has been given this role. No other institution or organisation is bestowed with it. The church is able to ordain men because she has the Spirit and the Word through which she is able to discern who has been rightly gifted and called according to biblical qualifications (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).

20.01.2022 We are pleased to host Dr. Richard Barcellos for a 2-Part Online Conference on Hermeneutics! The two sessions will be on the 12th and 19th of December at 1:00 PM (AEST). We have limited slots for the Zoom webinar, where you can participate in the live Q&A. So, register now for FREE: bit.ly/barcellos1689 Dr. Barcellos is pastor of Grace Reformed Baptist Church (www.grbcav.org), Palmdale, CA, and author of several books, including Getting the Garden Right, The Lord’s Supper as ...a Means of Grace: More than a Memory, Better than the Beginning: Creation in Biblical Perspective, and most recently, Trinity and Creation: A Scriptural and Confessional Account. "Those of us who view the Bible as the written Word of God...are committed to allow it to speak authoritatively on anything and everything it comments upon. And one of the things the Bible comments upon is itself. In other words, texts often pick up on previous texts and further explain their meaning. This happens with words, phrases, verses, passages, persons, events, institutions, places, and concepts. When this occurs, it is the divine use or interpretation of a previous divine revelation. In other words, the Bible sometimes interprets the Bible for us and when it does, the way subsequent revelation interprets and applies antecedent revelation gives us (at least in part) the divinely intended meaning of the antecedent text." - Dr. Richard Barcellos This event is in partnership with Christ's Heritage Church.

17.01.2022 The call of Isaiah plays a central role in the prophet’s entire ministry. The 66 chapters of Isaiah are ultimately shaped by the themes which we are introduced to in Isaiah chapter 6. These themes are the holiness of God, the sinfulness of man, and God’s provision of atonement. The chapter is strategically placed where it is to form a smooth transition from the chapters before, which presented the problem of Judah not living as God’s people due to their sin, and to the chapte...rs that follow, which illustrate the reality of Judah’s continuous rebellion even in light of the prophet’s warnings. The holiness of God and the sinfulness of man makes the judgement of God throughout the rest of the book necessary, while God’s provision of atonementwhom the New Covenant reveals to be Jesus Christprovides constant hope for the faithful remnant who heed God’s Word. 07.01.2022 "Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching." (1 Tim. 4:13) "The reading of the Scriptures, preaching and hearing the Word of God...are all parts of the worship of God." (LBCF 22.5) Whenever the Word of God is read, explained, and heard, it is God Himself who is addressing His people.

03.01.2022 For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the LORD, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10) Benjamin Keach (1640-1704): 1. Therefore, in this Covenant, we do not only receive Light, but the Fullness of Light. 2. Not only Life, but the Fullness of Life, because Christ is our Life whom we receive in this Covenant.... 3. Not only Strength, but the Fullness of Strength; The Lord is the Strength of my heart, and my Portion forever. See more
