19.01.2022 The first 4 photos are of a newly renovated engagement ring, into one that is dainty and so much more in keeping with the diamond and the wearer. A fine 18ct rose gold band and 4 claw setting. Vastly different to the (unworn) original where the diamond was overshadowed by the height of the setting, the size of the claws and the design of the band. So a small change can make such an amazingly huge difference. 12.01.2022 I learnt something new today, which as a gemologist I should have known. Always wrap your pearls in silk so they remain in perfect condition, the reason being the silk will not draw moisture from the pearls. And never store in cotton wool as this will dry out the pearls, which can result in cracking. Mine have always beeen stored separately in organza bags. However now I’m going to find a few unworn silk scarves, open the safe and do the right thing for my beautiful pearls. #covetjewels #southseapearls #tahitianpearls #gemsofthesea #silk
