12.01.2022 Possum - Our Christmas Story Possum came to us over the Christmas break as she had been vomiting and not eating. Dr Darcy took some abdominal radiographs and saw a lot of gas in Possum’s stomach, making him concerned about a foreign body. Possum showed no signs of improvement on anti-nausea medications and fluid therapy so Dr Darcy and Dr Anna scrubbed up on Boxing Day and took Possum to surgery to explore her abdomen while Nurse Bianca expertly managed her anaesthetic. ...The surgery proved fruitful as they found a Brazilian nut from a Christmas cake stuck in Possums intestines which was then surgically removed This is Possum two weeks after surgery, looking beautiful, happy and healthy! Can you spot the gas filled stomach on the radiographs?
