25.01.2022 While we all wait to see what plans will be announced tomorrow to move out of Stage 4, it is important not to relax our efforts to control COVID-19. This week, Victoria's Chief Health Officer identified Casey as one of the current areas of concern. We are all being encouraged to get tested if we display any relevant symptoms. Free, drive-through testing is available at Casey Fields from 9am to 4pm seven days a week.

25.01.2022 We are so close to being able to move out of Stage 4 restrictions but unfortunately, here in the City of Casey, we are experiencing a bit of a worrying spike in COVID-19 cases. We all need to work hard to get on top of this, so if you are experiencing even the slightest of symptoms, please get tested. You can visit Casey Fields or the new pop-up site in Clyde. #LetsBeatThis

24.01.2022 There's no denying things have been tough this year. If you call HeadtoHelp on 1800 595 212, an experienced mental health professional will listen and work with you to find the best ways to get the help you need. Depending on your needs, you may be connected with suitable existing services, receive care at a HeadtoHelp hub, or be connected to specialist or acute mental health services. Anyone can call HeadtoHelp - even if it's on behalf of someone else. And you don't need a Medicare card to get help - anyone living in Victoria can access this service - including international students, refugees and asylum seekers.

23.01.2022 COVID-19 has made this a tough year for many. Unemployment has doubled, and in August this year, there were at least 12 people receiving unemployment payments for every job advertised. For some people however, the Coronavirus Supplement has made it easier than usual to afford the basic necessities of life - food, bills and rent. We need to #RaisetheRateforGood #APW2020

23.01.2022 Got a bit of time next month? Time to give blood and change lives? 1 in 3 people in Cranbourne will need blood, and they need people like you to give it. Australian Red Cross is popping into the Balla Balla Community Centre in Cranbourne from 21 September to 2 October. Don’t forget to pre-book your spot with Sam at donateblood.com.au or on 13 14 95. #australianredcross #GiveBlood

19.01.2022 It's that time of year when the sunlight starts to stretch out in the evenings. Don't forget to put your clocks forward by one hour before you go to bed tonight. And while you're at it - change the batteries in your smoke alarms.

18.01.2022 Due to COVID-19, and the need to limit physical contact, CISS will provide all services by phone and on-line for the time being. Our aims are to protect our community, and to continue to provide Emergency Relief, counselling and financial counselling services. If you require any support, please call us on 5996 3333 between 9:30am and 4pm Monday to Friday, or leave an after hours message. Times are tough. We're here to help.

17.01.2022 From midnight tonight, we will all be required to wear face masks if we are out of our home. This directive comes after some days of concerning, positive COVID-19 figures. Remember - masks do not replace social distancing and good hand hygiene practices - they complement them. And only leave your home for one of the four approved reasons. If you are worried about how to access masks, please give us a call on 5996 3333 #StaySafe #KeepWell

17.01.2022 Ever wondered exactly what Emergency Relief is? Community, Information and Support agencies provide Emergency Relief (ER) to people in need. There are many typ...es of ER and this kind of support is available to any person, regardless of background or visa status. Help may be given with food or paying for things like groceries and bills. Many agencies also provide follow-up support through information, referrals and advocacy. Watch the video to find out more! If you are in need of help, you can find your local agency here: http://www.cisvic.org.au/home/find-your-local-agency You can also check out: https://askizzy.org.au/ #BecauseWeHelp #WhatIsEmergencyRelief

15.01.2022 It's the first Wednesday of Spring, and you know what that means - it's #WellbeingWednesday! It's hard to know what to focus on right now - especially for those us living in Melbourne - so how about we take an opportunity to look after our tastebuds with some easy and yummy recipes.

14.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day, and we understand that this is a difficult time for many, particularly for those of us in Melbourne living through lockdown. Our thoughts are with everyone who is struggling or feeling isolated. It’s important to stay connected in times like these, so keep talking to friends and family - pick up the phone, hit up Facebook, or even Zoom. If you need some extra support or someone to talk to - CISS offers a free counselling service, and an appointment can be made by phoning 5996 3333. For after hours support, you can call Lifeline on 13 11 14, which provides free 24/7 telephone and online crisis support.

12.01.2022 Today is #WellbeingWednesday and truth be told, we are all feeling a little weary, aren’t we? In fact, we are probably feeling a range of complex and often conflicting emotions. These are unprecedented times and we all need to be kind to ourselves if we can. So think of something nice you can do for yourself this week - no matter how small - and let us know what works for you. And in case you need reminding, we are here to support you too - you just need to call 5996 3333. We have attached some contacts for after hours support also. Take care of yourselves people

12.01.2022 The latest announcement from the government gives us an update for Term 3. As the City of Casey is in the Melbourne Metro area, schooling will return to learn-from-home from July 20 for Prep to Year 10 students. Years 11 and 12 go back to face-to-face learning at school from tomorrow. If you feel remote learning is going to be a problem because you work, or for any other reason, please speak to your school about alternative arrangements. Tell us - what support do you need to help make this work?

09.01.2022 This week is Anti-Poverty Week. Over 3 million Australians are currently living in poverty - that's 1 in 8 people and that's just not right. We can afford to look after everyone. Stay tuned for more information. #APW2020

08.01.2022 This #WellbeingWednesday, why not try teaching the kids some fun and healthy recipes? And tell us - what have you been cooking lately?

06.01.2022 Negative news can make us all a little more anxious and edgy, so here is Mr Bean with a quick COVID-19 Checklist. #MaskUpMelbourne #KeepSmiling

05.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with Balla Balla Community Centre to offer limited counselling and financial counselling services by appointment. If you would like to see a worker, please call the office on 5996 3333 between 9:30am and 4pm. This is also the number to call for any emergency relief support you may need through these unsettled times.

04.01.2022 It's the first Wednesday of the month, and for #WellbeingWednesday, we'd like to talk about friendship today - especially given how hard it has been for the young people in our lives during COVID-19. Next month, we will focus on reconnecting post-COVID. https://au.reachout.com//why-its-okay-not-to-have-a-huge-f

02.01.2022 Jobseeker payments (formerly Newstart) simply can’t go back to $40 a day. People who have money for food, shelter, clothing, medicine and transport are more able to look for work, have some everyday dignity, and put money straight back into our economy. #RaiseTheRate

02.01.2022 Are you a parent or carer of a young person aged from 12 to 25 years? Headspace Dandenong & Narre Warren want to reach out to parents and carers to learn more about how you’re doing during this time so that they can develop tools and links to resources to help improve your caring role. The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete. It is completely anonymous and because it is anonymous your privacy is protected and no-one is identified. Please complete the survey here: https://bit.ly/2XMPAZr

02.01.2022 For our evening #WellbeingWednesday post, we'd like to continue our conversation about friendship - with all its twists and turns. Don't forget that next month we will focus on reconnecting post-COVID.
