20.01.2022 The Barker tribe love this place The Deck at the Box Hill RSL, the kids love it too...perfect night for a pizza and lemonade...open air, great value, a community not for profit, the pizza and lemonade is great...no need to book roll up
19.01.2022 If you need a COVID test there are 4 people in line at BHH. This is fantastic! Please follow the DDHS guidelines and get a test if you need one. Proud that we are going to pull this wretched thing up, because Aussies care about each other!
18.01.2022 Elgar Ward had 6960 votes counted today....Barks is in First place with 2880 votes (41%) second place got 1205 vote (17%) and third place got 1072 (15%) and 4th (15%) place sits on 1042...last place got 633....or 9%.....there are more new votes to be counted, i expect another 800...but that is a pretty good sample...expect the preferences to 'splatter"....I am deeply appreciative of the help so many generous friends gave ...See you soon lov Barks

17.01.2022 Great to back out and about. Kerrimuir Cricket Club, MACC, EBHCC, SHCC, BHCC... Grounds look excellent. 'Dave' reminded me how important community sport is to a sense of well being, when he told me how much he enjoyed just being back with people at cricket training, it was the first social experience he'd had in many months. Thank you Mintz, Leigh, Gilly, Pat, Dave, Knoxy, Sav, Mal and so many other club volunteers that are getting the community back on its feet. Thanks to the turf crew for getting the ovals in great shape. Council's sports and Rec dept will have been under the pump given the changing restrictions, please be patient, if you have people wanting to play we'll find a way to get them some grass to play on. :) see you soon Rgds Blair 'Barks'

We'll keep our community informed on our Facebook page and website when we are running future community consultations over the phone.
09.01.2022 Delighted to advise that the Elgar Ward election result was a little less exciting that Trump vs Biden. The official provisional result, I won after a short distribution of preferences with 4422 second place got 2088. To the people that put up a yard sign, wrote me an endorsement, to the folk that gave me constructive input to my election material thank you. To the community that have placed thier trust in me, thank you, I wont let you down. The improvements we made to the... area in the last term was because of the community efforts. I'd also like to say a massive congratulations to Caroline Cook and Mathew Harris, that both ran strong and honest campaigns and fought hard for evey vote. I hope to have an enduring friendship with Ms Cook, she is a quality person and would make a superb Councillor.
