19.01.2022 Footy colours Day was a success here at Create Imagine Learn raising money for Childhood Cancer. The money you raise through Footy Colours Day funds Fight Cancer Foundation's education support programs. 15.01.2022 The children have been using a different part of reading egg's the last few days, by clicking on one of the icons down the bottom that says 'play' it takes the children to another room such as a school with different items around the room the children are able to choose. The Alphabet Chart: This section is focused on letter recognition and letter association. A Paint Easel: This section provides the children with four options to write, draw, paint or colour in. The Pencil o...ption provides the children with the opportunity to practice writing letters, where the Paint Brush and Paint Pot options give the children the opportunity to trace and colour in a variety of pictures. A Play Mat: This section is four games which each have a particular objective such as catching the bouncing teddy on the trampoline, bursting as many balloons as you can, or trying to get balls to bounce through an exit point. A Play Kitchen: The children can create meals such as stews, pizza, fruit salad and ice cream. The Puzzle Table: The puzzle table offers four activities with varying levels of difficulty from multi-piece puzzles to matching the two halves of animal bodies and matching the correct shape onto a puzzle board. Music Mat: This section contains four activities which are all musically focused, such as the drum kit activity which the children can control to create different tunes, an interactive keyboard activity which changes pitch depending on the picture selected, a sound activity matching animal sounds with the animal, and finally a matching game where students are required to copy a musical sequence. Craft Table: The craft table is another opportunity for the children to be creative and design their own picture, bead strand, play dough model or their own dramatic play set. The Stand: This is the dress up corner where the children are provided with two male and two female options to dress their character up in. A book shelf: The book shelf contains 20 different nursery rhymes that each have audio accompaniments which are sung out to students upon selection. The Animal Corner: This section contains four games where the children need to match up animals with their correct animal noises and match up the correct body parts of different animals. See more

This week we have enjoyed going outside (When it wasn't pouring with rain!) and being active!! We practiced using our wobble boards, walking on stilts, climbing on our climbing poles and climbing frame, walking on/crawling through our half pipes and balancing on our stepping stones! We also participated in some Munch and Move games such as 'What's the time Mr Wolf'.

08.01.2022 Recently we have started a baby play group here at Create Imagine Learn on a Sunday afternoon with Miss Amanda and Miss Jess. Playgroup is a collective time for the new babies to transition into our school. We have started our play group and are working on secure attachments and familiarity of environment. Over the next few weeks we will work on art therapy and music therapy to enhance the babies opportunity to explore other avenues of school life. This group has embedded a safe space for parents and babies to feel a sense of belonging and happiness.

08.01.2022 Book Week 2020 We had a great time last week celebrating book week here!! Children and staff were all encouraged to dress up and bring a matching book for us to read! We were very impressed with our families and the effort they went to! This years theme was: curious creatures, wild minds.

08.01.2022 All children and staff participated in monthly Lock down Drills and Evacuation fire Drills. Evacuation and Lock Down Drills are crucial components of keeping our community safe and enable us to implement processes, analyse their performance and improve our practices. Sometimes children are briefed prior to the drill, and at other times the drill just happens. Following all drills, children are debriefed by our staff and feedback is collected. These drills could also provide an opportunity for parents and caregivers to discuss our practices with your children.

07.01.2022 Meet our Staff: Hi, my name is Gabrielle Hussey, I have been a part of the childcare industry for 4 years. I began my work with children from a young age through coaching gymnastics. I have always enjoyed working with children as I get to see children development and learning firsthand as they grow under my care. I think it is a privilege to play an important role in the children’s lives during those vital first five years. I enjoy the outdoors and being active, and try to incorporate a lot of physical activity into my program, as well as using the children interest to create fun experiences.

07.01.2022 World Children’s Day (also known as Universal Children’s Day or International Children’s Day) is celebrated on 20 November and is UNICEF’s global day of action for children, by children. It’s a fun day with a serious message, with 20 November marking the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959, and the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The most widely ratified international human rights treaty in history, the Convention sets out the rights of children, such as the right to healthcare, education, clean water, protection from violence and the right to have their say in decisions that affect them. Here are some photos from the last two weeks of the children participating in various activities they have chosen!

06.01.2022 Thank you to Elizabeth from Kiama Library for coming in today. Elizabeth ran a Storytime session and has even given every child a library bag and a special story book to take home! Early literacy skills are so important and we are so grateful to participate in this program!

04.01.2022 The children in the 3-5 room have all come so far on the educational app ‘Reading Eggs’. The children are able to go at their own pace to work through the level's that suit their capability. Each level focuses on a different themes such as the sounds of the letters, identifying the letters and in some of the higher levels they start to focus on putting small words together and what each word looks and sounds like. The last week the children have had the opportunity to change the avatars on their own account this gives the children not only a chance to practice their reading skills but the children are able to use their imagination to create an avatar that represents their individual personality, it also helps the children recognise their accounts while still learning to recognise their names.

03.01.2022 On Tuesday, Miss Amanda took the school readiness children on a fun excursion! They walked down to ‘Spot the Dog’ dog groomers down at the Gainsborough shops! The children delivered some hand made dog treats and even got to pat a dog!! We then went over to the park for a play and to eat lunch from their lunch boxes (just like at big school!) they then walked all the way back to school and found some cool things like leaves, sticks, flowers and even a feather on their way back.
