21.01.2022 Really proud of some of the business owners I work with right now. Today its Four Walls Photography https://fourwallsphotography.com.au/ who have like many been finding it necessary to find new ways to do business whilst maintaining social distancing and extra requirements to #flattenthecurve Andrew was concerned but he didnt panic and he took our advice to do a few campaigns that were not the usual. The result has been reassuring for the business (exceptional results of course!) and prompted a few new directions like this 3D Tour linked which they did for a local art gallery who are also getting on with the new way of doing business >> DIGITAL. https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=NrTe1HevKue

09.01.2022 Given the predominance of social media these days, many business owners will at some stage find they have to respond to an unhappy customer going public. When this happens its usually a last resort after they have been ignored on other channels (such as an unanswered email or a phone call not returned). There are usually two kinds: those who have a genuine complaint that can be addressed and resolved (because yes, small business owners are human and we all make mistakes ...sometimes) and then there are those who just come across as bullies who wont ever be happy and dont want to engage in any reasonable conversation. Complaints, whilst they can seem quite personal, are an opportunity for improvement. I believe ALL customer feedback is valid. If you have good processes in place so that your customers feel they can come to you directly to resolve any issues, its likely you wont be in the situation of dealing with negative public feedback too often and your social accounts will instead be full of praise. If thats not the case then its time for you to look at those processes for feedback which is critical to good business. Jay Baer has some great advice that applies to all customer service situations not just complaints handling in the video linked below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kpB1FTNbRo See more

06.01.2022 WordCamp Brisbane 2019 is done and dusted. It was a huge success. The biggest WordCamp ever in Australia. I was an organiser this year, taking care of the event promotion on social media (Facebook and Instagram). Ive just quickly noted what Ive learned from the experience as I know it will be helpful to others doing event promotion and other WordCamps in future. Ill come back to update this with more detail soon. #WCBNE https://www.creativemode.com.au//what-i-learned-from-prom/

01.01.2022 If you are linking from Facebook to content on your website that involves a query its likely youll end up with a broken link since Facebook started including an extra parameter in the url. Follow up with your developer if youre in this situation. You might have to set up a redirect on the "?fbclid=".

01.01.2022 In the world of online I see people re-hashing and re-releasing the same content in different forms every day. This series is spot on with regard to that. http://vimeo.com/14912890
