24.01.2022 Do you have a business strategy or plan? Don't stay stuck!

24.01.2022 Having a content plan helps you to stay on track and allows you to decide things like: The type of content you need each type has its pros and cons. Social media is ephemeral but can be good for converting to sales; blog posts are forever and help build your authority but are more time-consuming to create; and newsletters get you straight into customer’s inboxes but you need to create material they want to consume and take action on. Frequency how often you can trul...y commit to creating content. Be realistic when you set your goals. If you want to publish content regularly but aren’t planning on outsourcing it, will it be achievable? Goals before planning your content, think about what your goals are, i.e. what actions you want people to take as a result of consuming your content. Style think about the different writing styles you want to adopt and what sort of message they deliver (e.g. persuasive, informative, entertaining etc.) Topics start thinking about topics and create your plan across a certain period (like a quarter). And don’t forget to schedule time to write your content! If all this sounds too much like hard work, outsource it! We love creating content for our clients. (https://creativeiq.net/contact/)

22.01.2022 Blue skies, fresh air and new lambs make for a pretty great Saturday afternoon. Taking a break from doing all the things to make our clients look super to spend some time checking lambs with Louise from Farm Life Fitness (incidentally, one of our super clients). What did you do to take a break from business and refresh today? P.S. Gemma selected her own outfit - clearly sophisticated enough to know that an Eagles hoodie and running shoes can be glammed up with a tutu

21.01.2022 Do you just use LinkedIn as an online resume? If so, you're missing out on some great benefits. https://creativeiq.net/jazz-up-your-linkedin-profile/

20.01.2022 Copywriting is writing designed to sell. Think the writing used on websites, flyers, brochures, social media advertising, product descriptionsthe list goes on. Copywriting convinces the buyer to take action. It does more than just list the features of the product or service, it creates a compelling case for why this purchase will deliver the solution the client needs.

19.01.2022 What is a Call to Action, or CTA? Nope, this is not a Bat-Signal or ‘Avengers, Assemble!’ situation. A CTA is basically fancy marketing speak for what action or direction you want your client to take next. Think about anything you have signed up for online.... When you plug your email address into a pop-up box because it promises a 20% discount to ‘VIP customers’, that’s a call to action. When you click on a Facebook ad that says, ‘Learn More’, that’s a call to action. When you buy something as a result of following a link in an email newsletter, that’s a call to action too. A clever call to action entices a reader to take a certain action without even realising they are being marketed to. It can convert a reader or casual browser into a client. Need help with your calls to action or other marketing 'stuff'? Message us (psst, that’s a call to action ).

16.01.2022 A few quick tips for generating content ideas (that the CIQ team use for our own content!): Identify common issues. What questions do you find yourself answering over and over again? What tasks do your clients most commonly approach you for? Focus on one topic at a time. Make a list of potential topics but address them individually. If you try to answer all the questions at once, you’ll confuse people, and run out of ideas very quickly!... Investigate and research. The amount of research you do should be minimal and more about fact checking, as your content should stem from your own expertise. But a bit of investigation into a popular topic will not go astray. For instance, check out blogs and forums on the same topic and see what has people buzzing. Still feeling a bit stuck? We help lots of clients with their content, from helping them brainstorm then delivering a customised plan for them to follow, right up to writing and scheduling content for them. We can tailor a service to your needs. (https://creativeiq.net/contact/)

16.01.2022 We can’t lie to you. Chocolate is often integral to operations around here. Boss lady Anna’s preference lie in the dark chocolate direction but in emergency situations she’ll go for milk or white if needs must. Her supermarket temptations include Cherry Ripes, Peanut M & Ms and the occasionally block of Old Gold Rum n Raisin. So, how important is chocolate to your business (and sanity) and what’s your supermarket confectionary aisle indulgence?

15.01.2022 When you go for a run (in the rain!) and happen to spot a rainbow landing on one of your local client's premises. Apparently, a great deal on a Toyota is at the end of this rainbow, even better than a pot of gold.

14.01.2022 First impressions last, and your logo is usually the first thing potential clients see. So if it looks cheap, or doesn’t communicate anything about your business, it won’t impress anyone. If your designer is only charging $50 to create your logo, it could mean a few things they won’t spend very long working on it; this is a fun hobby for them rather than their career; and/or they can’t or won’t take the time to get to know your business, so your logo won’t ‘say’ anything a...bout you. They also might be using templates to make something that is not unique at all (we've seen business owners discover someone else has the same logo as it was created with a template). Remember, when you commission a designer for a logo, you don’t just get an image. A good designer should ask you lots of questions and research your business, your competition and your clients. The resulting logo will be a unique, recognisable representation of your business, sending a clear message to the world. You should also receive multiple variations of your logo in superior digital quality. Another consideration is that if you ‘cheap out’ on your logo, chances are you’ll end up having to spend more money at some point in the future when you realise it’s doing nothing for your business. Food for thought.

07.01.2022 If you’re finding marketing hard going, ask yourself: Am I selling a service or offering a solution? Selling a service is focusing on what you DO. Filing a tax return. Planning a wedding. Drafting house plans. That is really hard work. You’re just telling people the tangible thing. And you aren’t going to stand out from your competitors.... Offering a solution is explaining how you will respond to their need to make a difference. Stopping them from worrying about not dealing with business taxes for the last two years (eek). Finding amazing but affordable solutions for a wow-factor wedding on a budget. Giving them the tools to build their dream home, knowing it will be structurally sound and meet their vision. We help professionals in business define their message so they consistently communicate the solutions they offer for their ideal clients. Need some of that? Talk to us.

04.01.2022 With recent global complications around face-to-face meetings, more and more people and businesses have started rely on video conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. 03.01.2022 Go crazy for a momentimagine your brand was a person. An actual real, living, breathing person. What do they look like? Sound like? How do they feel about themselves? What do people say about them when they aren’t in the room?... Are they sassy and confident? Swishing their ponytail and sipping on a green smoothie? Everyone says they’re lovely and really have it together. They’ve got their wardrobe sorted and they communicate with eloquence. People are keen to hang around them. Or maybe they are feeling frumpy and flat? They remember when they felt fresh, but those days are long gone. They are more into trackie-dacks and ugg boots lately. And swishy ponytail? More like lank locks in need of a squirt (or ten) of dry shampoo. People remember when they had pizazz. But now, it’s not that people don’t like them, it’s just that they’ve kind offorgotten about them. Maybe things aren’t that dire, but they aren’t great either. You just don’t get that tingly feeling when you think about your brand. And your clients feel like you’re kind of beige too. Need some help to get some sass and style back into your brand? We work with service-based businesses to create brand material they love.

02.01.2022 Branding is so much more than just your logo. But there can be a lot of elements to keep track of. Why is it worth making the effort? Consistency and efficiency if your branding is clearly set out, it makes life easier for you and your staff. Having templates and procedures in place means you don’t have to make a decision every time you are faced with a brand choice. It supports your marketing message Your branding should stay consistent with your marketing message. F...or example, if your marketing tells clients that you are homely and comforting, your branding should back that up. Be recognised if your branding is on point, it should be recognisable. When people see your logo or your brand colours, they should instantly know that it’s you. Brand consistency is what helps you to be recognisable. Support your staff to be ambassadors when your brand is clear and consistent, your staff can be your advocates with greater ease. They know the expectations on how to present the business and conduct themselves. Do you know what your brand is about?
