25.01.2022 Hand carved Emu egg depicting the Swan and its babies. What a beauty... Emu-egg carving became popular in Australia in the mid to late 19th century as a form of artistic expression. Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians practised the art, and some silversmiths designed elaborate and ornate stands to hold the eggs. Since then Aboriginal people of south-eastern Australia and the Carnarvon region of Western Australia have kept the practice alive.

15.01.2022 In this painting, Gracie paints the Bush Plum seeds. The Bush Plum is a highly nutritious small fruit with black seeds, rich in vitamin C that can be eaten raw or cooked. Growing in a great profusion of flower and fruit throughout the winter months, the women, accompanied by the children, collect the bush plums, while at the same time reconfirming their connection to the land. The flourish of colour that distinguishes the bush plum after the fall of the rain is quickly transformed with the long hot summer months. Dried and separated, the seed and husk are scattered over the vast sunbaked landscape by the hot summer winds. #aboriginalaustralia #aboriginalartgallery #creativenativeperth #contemporarypainting #ethicallysourced #wallart #artlove #contemporaryaboriginalart #interiordesign #australianoutback #australianart #aboriginalartist

07.01.2022 "Bush medicine leaves" by Jeannie Petyarre. This beauty measures 100 x 45cm and for a limited time get a free boxed pure silk scarf by the same artist valued at $160. About Jeannie:... Jeannie lives on Boundary Bore Outstation in the Utopia region. She is sister to Greeny Purvis Petyarre, senior elder at this outstation and Gloria Petyarre, another very well known Utopian painter. In 1988, Jeannie Petyarre was part of the group who produced Batik work using desert design on silk and cotton. Jeannie was encouraged by her aunt, the famous Emily Kngwarreye to continue to paint her familys Yam Dreaming. In particular, she returns again and again to "Bush Yam Leaves" and Bush Medicine Leaves", both of which themes show flowing representations of the leaves. Typical of Utopian artists, Jeannie rejoices in the use of colour. Today, Jeannie Petyarre spends her time between her homeland at Utopia and in Alice Springs. @ Creative Native Perth
