05.01.2022 Embracing new ways of interacting with our special guests! This week in #dfb204 our students heard from the fabulous @emma_puttick from @naudic @roundtheglobe.naudic . We 'virtually' sat in her studio and heard about her brand, design process, manufacturing and plans. Thank you Emma for #qutrealworld learning! I then ran through how to spec up a style (using our @museumofbrisbane product development example) and we met up for virtual group time with 60 students. 01.01.2022 What is the future of fashion retail? Interesting session with panelists including @dbush65 @wgsn... Customers want to know if brands are nice people, are they doing the right thing? How do we create customer intimacy, transparency, with well crafted design that is quick to market whilst being sustainable? I am not sure I know how to do that, but I am super impressed that @palmamartin_official is testing the waters with her impressive brand.

01.01.2022 Session 2 begins with an inspirational presentation by Mel founder of @abravelife and Hope (a teen mum who graduated high school with a one year old). Emotions were high in all rooms with Ed and Dan presenting from @trademutt their mental health message and @kidshelplineau sharing the needs of disadvantaged kids around Australia. What an emotional roller coaster but one that evokes empathy and teaches our design students what is is to be a citizen expert.
