22.01.2022 The cabins were not directly affected by the fires... But indirectly we were. There were a number of cancellations during our busiest time. Last week we had a lovely guest who wanted to visit Gippsland stores & stayed at the cabins. We thank him... and the others that are coming to Gippsland. Welcome.

21.01.2022 So there is bad news & good news. Bad news: people in the councils below cannot stay at the cabins for the next 6 weeks GOOD news: if you dont live in those areas... You CAN stay at the cabins!! (I will need a copy of you drivers licence at time of booking) . Weve had to cancel bookings , so the cabins are now available.

20.01.2022 **REVIEW** "Mum's Kitchen" - home made meals that were delivered to the cabins! My daughter & I were lucky to stay 3 days at the cabins in January, and we discovered "Mum's Kitchen". This is run by local lady Kylie, who makes the most delicious meals and delivers them to Golden Beach, Paradise Beach, Loch Sport and Seaspray. I'm attaching the menus so you can see. At the moment there are not many eateries in Golden Beach... so it was a relief to find Mums kitchen, and... a blessing that she delivered. My daughter had Fried Rice, and I chose the Sticky Sesame Chicken (although I was very tempted by the lasagne or roasts). They were supplied in plastic containers so we could store in the fridge & reheat in the microwave. The fried rice was good for 2 of us. The chicken would be 2 small servings or 1 large serving. They both reheated well. BOTH were delicious!! Kylie is a lovely lady and we had a bit of a chat. She moved to Golden Beach a year ago, and set up this business a few months ago. She has years of commercial cooking experience. My scores: service: 10/10 presentation: 9/10 taste: 10/10 value: 9.5/10 I highly recommend this business to everyone... visitors and locals. As the cabins don't have an oven/stove - this is PERFECT for those that are visiting and would like a home cooked meal. I would recommend you order your meals BEFORE you come to the cabins, as the meals are made to order - in advance. So you can't just phone on the day and have delivery that night. 20.01.2022 Its such a relief to be open for bookings again. We had 4 guests last weekend . With the new reverse cycle air conditioning (heating)... its a great place to get away for a day (or few) and relax. The guest was stoked she could hear the ocean from the cabin! We also take single night bookings. Less than 3 hours from Melbourne CBD... you can have a mini break or a weekend away. Dont forget that holidays are soon.... now you can get the kids OUT OF THE HOUSE and OFF TECHNOLOGY !!! Book online or give me a message or call.

18.01.2022 It is with sadness that we cant have guests at the moment... (not even Gippsland people now). It has been a tough year between bushfires and lock downs. Whats important is our health... and we will get through this. Here are some things you could do.... like our page (would love to hit 1,000 likes)... share our page with your friends comment on our posts write a FB or Google review if you have stayed at the cabins consider booking now for later in the year....(school holidays are from the 19th Sept... and again from the 19th Dec). A 20% deposit can secure a booking - and is fully refunded if there are further lock downs. When people were able to travel in July - there was a rush of bookings.... so dont miss out. I want to take this opportunity to THANK all our wonderful guests and facebook fans. We purchased these cabins 4 years ago and there has been a labour of love to renovate them and make them as comfortable as possible. Our latest addition is state of the art air conditioners... unfortunately, not getting much use now. With international travel looking doubtful for a while, and interstate travel might be difficult.... Golden Beach Cabins are an ideal get away. Across the road from the beautiful 90 Mile beach , and not too far to drive from Melbourne. Both cabins are fully self contained and you can bring your dog too! Listen to the ocean waves as you sip your wine or beer ... whilst you cook your BBQ dinner . We look forward to hosting LOTS of people when we get through this.

16.01.2022 Review: Wilcos Cafe (Golden Beach). My daughter & I had dinner at Wilcos on Sunday night (cheese burger & souvlaki). Enjoyed it so much, we returned on Monday night. One of the first things you notice is how friendly the ladies are (finding out their names : Cobie & Tanya... and Wilma wasnt working that night). Although there were quite a few people in the cafe, the drinks were bought to us quickly, and meals not long after. Have heard rave reviews of their pizza... So da...ughter & I shared one. We created our own : plain cheese with BBQ sauce base. It was delicious. I loved that I could have a glass of cab sav (which was nice, and just $5). My daughter had a chocolate milkshake. We decided to have dessert... $5.50 sundaes. They were simple... But yummy. Food: Service: Price: Decor: We will definitely return to Wilcos when we visit. I can see it being popular with the locals as well as visitors, because the prices are very reasonable. Check their Facebook page to see when they are open. See more

12.01.2022 As there is only tank water in Golden Beach, there is no laundromat. (closest is Loch Sport and Sale). But you can wash clothes in the "mini tub/shower" and hang on the line... Which it at the back of cabin 1. We provide pegs

06.01.2022 You will find hand sanitiser and Glen 20 at the entrance to the cabins. And our cleaner has done the covid safe course. We're so happy that we can now welcome guests back to the cabins. Vacancies in the first 2 weeks of December and last 2 weeks of January.

06.01.2022 Now that covid restrictions are over.... the cabins are booking up! Here is a calendar for you to see what's available. Ideal time to book some weekends away in December, or some time away during school holidays. Xmas/New Year is booked out (except 2 days available on the 2/3 Jan). 04.01.2022 The cabins have state of the art air conditioners. They're so smart... I'm able to turn them on from my phone before you arrive!! Just send me an sms when you're half an hour away and I can turn on the air con (or heating) so the cabin is perfect when you arrive. It's all part of the service

03.01.2022 This bought tears to my eyes. Weve had to cancel so many bookings in the last 6 months due to smoke (from fires) & covid lockdowns. Tonight I got a booking from a Gippsland local, supporting us, & the Golden Beach Community. We will get through this. And I thank those that are helping us get through. Bless you. Stay safe.

If you want to get away - book NOW!! 20% deposit required at time of booking. There are plenty of weekends available too, if you want to have a beach break, family weekend or fishing trip.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to the regional community who have controlled their Covid-19 cases. You are rewarded by being allowed to come to Golden Beach Cabins! I phoned the government today to check, and they confirmed that people who live in the regional areas can stay at the Cabins :) (Unfortunately, it may be the end of October before Melbourne Metro residents can stay). So... if you want to get away for a few days, or a weekend, or even a single night... book online or send us a message via facebook. Fur babies are welcome. Melbourne metro residents can book now for November+ stays.

01.01.2022 Its meant to be 28 today... But Im not complaining. The cabins are in the Gippsland area... and this rain is a welcome relief. Golden Beach was safe from the fires... But we were affected a little (by cancelled bookings). Today my daughter & I will play some games and watch some DVDs. Its great to relax and get away from the hustle & bustle... Even if we stay indoors.
