22.01.2022 Palpable Petersham Porch We cant think of anything which gets your heart racing quite like a picture perfect makeover. (Okay, maybe we can, but for the sake of this post, professionalism and business etiquette well keep this one clean and tidy, much like our workmanship! )... So let us tell you a tale. Only a few footsteps away from Petersham Public School stood a little lonely porch. For decades shed watch as the children frolicked in the streets. Their cheerful and happy nature masking cracks within her once exquisite exterior; however, no matter how hard she tried, she knew, deep down, her beauty was slowly withering away. (Hey! Hey! Its not all depressing. We promise theres a fairytale ending!) Little did she know her luck was about to take a turn. One bright sunny day, two knights in a shiny white van appeared; neatly dressed and armed with unparralled expertise, they went to work with the sole aim of saving her from relentless distress. Day-by-day the knights to-and-froed finally managing to restore the porchs elegance and allure. Moral of the story: sometimes you have to be completely broken in order to be restored to your true self... well that and were pretty damn good at what we do, so contact us! Hope you enjoyed this tiny tale and more importantly the restoration. Colin’s century-year-old pathway encountered significant damage over decades due to the gradual growth of tree roots beneath its substrate; subsequent expansion and moment caused cracks and elevation throughout the floor ruining what was a glorious hallmark of the home’s history. As you scroll through you’ll witness the previously laid pathway, the preparation phase consisting of the demolishing of the pathway and its garden-edge, the removal of rubbish, and the concreting of a new sturdy base. You’ll even take notice of that ridiculously huge piece of wood... See, sometimes size can be really annoying!

15.01.2022 Corinne and Josh tasked us with mirroring their verandahs design across their pathway floor. As you can see, the pathway is encased with a 100mm wide strip of slate acting as a frame. An innovative design which the new Annandale homeowners envisioned. Living up to our billing, we made another dream reality. ... Thats not the most important thing, though. Were all about making couples happy. So scroll through and see the smile on the faces of this lovely couple glisten as brightly as their beautifully tiled space. 11.01.2022 Here at Creative Tiling, were completely and utterly inclusive. We dont discriminate. No job is too big, or too small. Dont believe us?... Well, considering its a chilly evening make yourself a cup of tea or coffee (you can be a bit generous on the sugar, youve earned it ), sit back and take a look at one of our most recent projects. In Petersham, Sydneys Inner West, we were tasked to design, create and adorn a fireplace floor with surrounding colours of this Victorian bedroom abode. We went for a creamy palette (sounds tasty, doesnt it? ) using pink, off-white, white, and beige tones with black acting as the perfect contrasting element. So with the winter months upon us, this happy family can enjoy not only the magnetic warmth of a fire but also the alluring masterpiece upon which it is nestled.

11.01.2022 Sometimes the slightest of tweaks can make a significant impact. Youve mightve noticed in some of our previous work, clients have opted for either a Checkered Square or Checkered Octagon design, basically meaning two colours are alternated side-by-side to illustrate, you guessed it, a checkered effect. However, in some cases this technique is a little excessive and doesnt dovetail with the surrounding features of a home.... A little sad, we know, but it is all going to be okay. We promise theres a solution! And, well, the solution is quite simple, actually. Basically, you still incorporate a checkered effect but to a lesser degree. The end result ensures the pattern still maintains its flamboyance yet marries seamlessly with its ambience. Earlwood, Sydney, NSW

09.01.2022 Subtle tweaks make a huge difference. Take our Leicester Pattern for example. Usually laid squared, its a stylish pattern in its own right; however, with a simple 45 degree shift, the pattern takes on a completely new persona, at times almost being unrecognisable. This process is what we call Laying on the Diamond; its a technique we recommend for homes which dont have a brick facade, as theres no potential clash with rectangular or square shapes in bricks.... Another subtle tweak on show at this Croydon home is the use of various Encaustic tiles; this technique discretely livens the pattern and allows your eyes to dance a little, and who doesnt enjoy a little dance?! So as you can see, there are various minor alternations which can be made to alter the aesthetics of a design. Together with the facade of ones home, we work in unison to establish a splendiferous (nice word, isnt it? ) end result. What are your thoughts about the aforementioned techniques? A dash of colour, in this case, red, is the perfect complement to its surrounding greyscale colour scheme. With the luscious green hedges providing another boost of colour, it makes for a breathtaking sight. I mean, you may even say it’s an entrance fit for an emperor.
