That was worth a hi-5 from all members present Congratulations on 1 year with CRG NRG Fitness Shane!... What an achievement so far... Your heart health has increased 10 fold with your cardio capacity now absolutely insane so much so it's transferred over and improved your performance in your motorcross sport. You've introduced a lifestyle diet that is sustainable for you that no longer includes late night snacking. You've become stronger. You have so much more mobility and flexibility. 24.01.2022 THAI BEEF SALAD I love salads! So fresh... So easy to make... So fragrant ... This Thai Beef Salad is perfect for a 'quick to prepare' meal - after a hectic day I usually make a huge bowl of salad and then cook the steak fresh for the meal... and to be honest with salads, I never go by quantity on a recipe. I simply combine all the goodness to fit the size of my (very large) bowl WHAT YOU NEED Sirloin Beef Steak 1 Lettuce, leaves torn 1 Large Red Capsicum, sliced thinly 100g Bean Sprouts, trimmed Spring Onions, sliced Fresh Coriander leaves Fresh Mint leaves DRESSING 80ml Fresh Lime Juice 2 Tsp Fish Sauce 1 Tsp Soy Sauce 1 Large Garlic Clove (which always means a heaped spoonful of minced ) 1-2 small Fresh Chillies (I didn't add these) CHEF MOVES 1 Cook the beef to your liking I did medium rare and then rest aside for 10-15mins to cool (I ate mine still warm ). Cut into strips 2 Combine all dressing ingredients in a bowl & mix well. I added cracked pepper. 3 Place all salad ingredients into a bowl & combine well. Layer beef strips on top. Drizzle with desired dressing. Yum Yum! And I think you can definitely make friends with salad, because I bet you all like me after checking out my lunch from yesterday

21.01.2022 ROLE MODEL A person looked to by others as an example to be imitated. When you were really little, who did you look up to? Who did you aspire to? I bet it was your Mum or Dad right?... As parents, we are role models to our children. It's important to remember our mini-me's watch and inevitably copy everything we do. They feel our energy. They feel our vibe. ... and also what we say - especially the stuff we don't want them to To be the best role model we can be it's important to live our lives in the best way that we possibly can. Gratitude. Loving ourselves. Learning. Growing. Progressively moving forward. Do you show yourself love and understanding? Do you talk kindly to yourself? Are you leading an active and healthy lifestyle? Are you prioritising looking after yourself before looking after others? Are you accepting and forgiving of yourself when you make mistakes? Are you fueling your body with nutritious foods? Do you respect yourself and your body? All of these actions unconsciously show and ultimately teach our children more than our words will ever do. So walk the walk. Aim for action, however small. The ups and downs of life are inevitable. Reflect your losses and learn the valuable lesson, and celebrate your wins along the way. We have little eyes watching us with everything we do ... Inspire them to know they can do or be anything they want to be. Include them in your healthy activities, habits and routines. Show them you are worth believing and investing energy into and they will grow up empowered to believe they are as equally deserving too

19.01.2022 MEMBER SHOUT OUT Congratulations to member Matt who competed in his very 1st 5km fun run today In the Perth City Bridges Fun Run. A windy morning in the city on Fathers Day, Matt was able to run a PB time of 25:23.... His personal goal was to beat 28mins.. You sure did Matt! I'm super proud of you Matt approached me saying he wanted to do some endurance running, we sat down to discuss his goal. 5km was achievable for an amateur runner in his first competitive run with the preparation time we had available... It was also important to Matt to really put in a competitive run. Since then we have spent the past 8wks specifically working on building up strength through his posterior chain to support his stride & acceleration / deceleration. Aswell as strengthening his core which enhances performance Check out Matt's journey today Is your goal to run in a distance race? 12.01.2022 Everything you want is on the other side of consistency I see many parents attempt diets, 2-3 weeks later fall off the wagon and then look for the next promise & the next 'quick fix' fad... I understand there is an urgency for you to feel and look better as soon as possible, however going from one diet to another only forms more fear and anxiety to the point where it becomes overwhelming ... Aren't you feeling drained from this yo-yo effect? Creating a lifestyle approach, dealing with root causes such as stress, emotion, children, limiting beliefs & time = these are all things we as parents have to juggle & consider. 10.01.2022 Have you injured your shoulder lately? Are you suffering from ongoing debilitating shoulder pain? Do you struggle to elevate your arm above your head?... Check this out Member Nadia had injured her RHS shoulder in an accident recently which left her only able to lift her arm to approx 120. Attempting to lift her arm any further saw her wincing in pain. From her injury - She was also experiencing tightness, irritation and discomfort through her shoulder joint, upper back and into her neck. Nadia works within an office environment so everyday movements like the continual use of a mouse kept her in constant aches and pain. Together with an aching back and postural unease through sitting down for long periods of time during the day, Nadia had come to the conclusion that she would be in a state of pain forever. 09.01.2022 FEAR OF FAILURE I recently popped a poll out within my family empowerment community group around 'what scares you the most when it comes to your health and fitness?' My first little video is around the top response you gave from the poll.... FAILING It's a huge topic and one I believe we've all experienced and thought about at some stage along our journey. 08.01.2022 Hey Mum's & Dad's.... Find yourself having a few (or a few too many ) drinks over the weekend? Then an early wake up call on Sunday morning, so no chance to sleep off your headache? ... Still feeling lethargic and blah come Monday morning? Ouch I've most certainly been there before! The kids don't stop their loud, energetic ways, just because you're not feeling so crash hot Here's a few tips to inject some much needed energy into your day to see you thrive through your Monday, rather than feel like you're barely just surviving Start by taking 10 deep breaths. Inhale for the count of 3. Hold for the count of 4. Exhale for the count of 5. Drink a large glass of water... even 2 As hydration is desperately needed! Take a magnesium supplement Powder is best, mixed in water Amongst so many other benefits, magnesium promotes energy production in your body... and what do we need right now? 08.01.2022 When you change the way you look at yourself.... the way you look changes And WOW what a transformation @cheethamgrace you are looking fantastic... and it has all started from changing your perception around yourself & what you were experiencing on a day to day basis.... Grace has gone from feeling lethargic and unmotivated to upbeat & energised. From feeling tired and frumpy to fit and strong. You have gone from feeling unworthy to completely deserving. And you have gone from feeling as if you were barely surviving life to now - absolutely thriving, loving and excited for every day that comes. I am so proud of you! I have loved seeing you flourish ... And I know there is still more to come because of how open and allowing you have become I am extremely grateful to be on this journey with you and I look forward to witnessing and supporting you in even more growth

06.01.2022 "It's ok to be scared. Being scared means you're about to do something really, really brave" F E A R When we think of fear, our general consensus is that we're afraid. We're scared.... We're about to speak infront of a big (or small) audience and our voice doesn't want to work... We're about to speak up for the very first time, for ourselves - in a confrontation. We're about to express how we really feel to someone we care about. We're about to start a new health and fitness program. Did you know that our body recognises and experiences the exact same feelings when we feel fear or anxious about something to when we feel excitement Our body reacts the same way! It's simply our brain that is telling us a different version of the story. How about we change how we look at these feelings? Change the story we tell ourselves around this situation? Choose to respond differently? Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. Instead - let's empower ourselves and change our narrative to; I'm super happy to get to try something new. I'm so excited to share my awesome ideas. I'm brave and courageous for expressing how I feel. I'm ready to feel fit and healthy. Greatness happens when we push ourselves outside of the place that feels too comfortable. When we embrace those walls of limitations, knock them down to achieve your dreams and live your very best life possible

05.01.2022 Our stepping Queen Congratulations @cheethamgrace You are our August step challenge winner ... Stepping a whopping total of 412,744 steps for the month of August.. that's an average of 13, 314 steps per day!! What an achievement Increasing our NEAT - Non Exercise Activity Thermogenis - (the energy expended for non exercise activities, sleeping & eating) by getting up and about throughout your day helps you to: burn more calories, improve your mood, increase energy levels decrease mobility and flexibility tightness Here are some unique CRG NRG ways you can increase your "move more" concept - Dance with the kids while you're watching "Just dance" on TV Groove or do calf raises in the kitchen when cooking or doing dishes. Take the stairs 2 at a time instead of taking the lift. Instead of sitting on a chair at work, sit on a fitness ball to engage different muscle groups for stability... bring on that strong core The more NEAT activities you engage in each day will in turn enhance your overall health... and that's what we're all about So let me see you M O V E

05.01.2022 As a busy working Mum - I'm all for quick & easy meals. I don't want to be spending hours in the kitchen after finishing work, especially when I finish late. Larger serves that I can carry over for use in numerous ways & other meals is absolutely ideal! This dish ticks all my boxes is full of vegies & super healthy too ... SPANISH FISH STEW This dish is bursting with flavour - garlic, fennel seeds, paprika and tomatoes, it's a simple 1 pot meal made in under 20mins WHAT YOU NEED 300g White firm fish - I used snapper 1 sml Red Onion, finely diced 1 sml Zucchini, chopped into 1cm cubes 1 tsp crushed garlic 1/2 tsp chilli powder (optional) 1 tsp Fennel Seeds 2 tsp Paprika 1 tsp Salt 400g crushed tomatoes 1 C Fish Broth/ Stock (can use chicken) 1 C Water 1 tsp tomato paste 1/2 C Frozen peas (I used corn too) 1/2 C Pearl Cous Cous Zest of 1 small Lemon Cornflour to thicken HOW TO MAKE 1 Cut fish into 2.5cm x 2.5cm pieces (evenly sized) 2 Heat the oil and add onion, zucchini, garlic, paprika, fennel, salt and chilli. Cook for 2 mins. 3 Add tinned tomatoes, fish stock, tomato paste and water, stirring through. Let it heat through and just before it starts to bubble add in lemon zest and stir. 4 Reduce heat to medium and add couscous. Stir through for 4-5 minutes until couscous is just cooked. 5 Add peas & cook for 1min. 6 Add fish & cook for 1-2mins until fish is just cooked. 7 Add a small amount of cornflour to thicken liquid. Serve immediately with some yummy crusty rye sourdough Save this post to make for dinner tonight!

05.01.2022 TASTE TESTING Are your kids fussy eaters? Sometimes, my daughter takes one look at something on her dinner plate, screws up her face and tells me she's not going to eat it... ... I now have the best way to get her to try new foods in a fun, playful environment PLAY THE TASTE TESTING GAME A taste testing game is a great way to get your kids excited about trying new foods that they may otherwise turn their nose up at. First, blindfold your child and give them a plate with 4-5 types of foods on it. Have it as a combination of foods they already like with new ones that you want them to eat, included Get them to try each food, to smell, feel and taste, describing it as they go. Then see if they can guess what it is without looking Some examples to try; Frozen berries Ham / Cold meats Cheese Frozen peas or corn Spinach Leaves Square of dark chocolate Vegie sticks Olives Let me know how it goes!
