25.01.2022 Support Australian Steel With the current economic climate, it is important now more than ever before, to stand behind Australian industries. Across the private and public sector, cities and regional communities, we ask you to continue to support Australian steel. The Australian steel industry has;... - helped our economy - created jobs - secured a future for our children Supporting the Australian steel industry means that every dollar you spend is a dollar that’s invested back into our communities to support local families and businesses. This sustains our towns and communities. Investing money in these communities means we can safeguard the future for our children by continuing to create and manufacture products within Australia. Supporting the Australian steel industry doesn’t just create jobs and boost the local economy, it simply makes good sense. Steel is critical to the homes our families are raised in; the stadiums where we support our teams; the buildings we work from; the roads and bridges we travel on; and the many products and services that improve our daily lives. The Australian steel industry generates $29 billion in annual revenue and contributes $11 billion to Australia's GDP. By meeting Australian Standards, you can be sure that the products manufactured and fabricated in Australia meet the harsh Australian conditions. 12.01.2022 Not something you see everyday In preparation for a major project we are about to undertake in the states south, we required our 130 tonne crane to be set up in a location we weren’t able to just drive into. To combat this problem we took advantage of our 250 tonne crane to lift it over 15 metres into position #haywards #rigging #grove #lift #crane #sitework #construction

02.01.2022 AWARD WINNER Last year we at Crisp Bros. & Haywards completed the fabrication of one of the most challenging bridge designs to date. The Bridge of Remembrance, connecting the Cenotaph and the Soldiers Memorial Avenue on the Queens Domain in the state’s capital, was constructed to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the end of World War 1. The bridge spans over 180 metres and contains around 350 tonnes of steel. The design of the bridge was inspired by the hull of a sh...ip and wing of an aero plane. No other material could have been used other than steel to create the sweeping design over the length of the bridge. Crisp Bros. & Haywards were lucky enough to be nominated for and take out the ‘Steel Excellence Award Tasmania’ for this project. Ten’s of thousands of hours were put in by the management team, draftsmen, workshop fabricators and constructions crews over a nine-month period to complete this impressive design and receiving an award like this makes it all worthwhile. We thank the ASI for this award. Please watch the video to view all the ASI award winners or skip to the Bridge Of Remembrance at the 24 minute mark. https://www.steel.org.au//awar/vic-tas-award-winners-2020/
