21.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We will remember them.

20.01.2022 If you haven't seen The Leader today check out the latest Council Chronicle co-authored by the 3 B Ward Councillors. We recap some of Sutherland Shire Council's recent projects in B Ward and what we are focussing on next. Biddy Giles Park at the old Brick Pit site... A new Park at Oak Rd Kirrawee New play equipment in Lilli Pilli Developing a Masterplan for Seymour Shaw (to include a new youth precinct and improve safety, accessibility and amenity). 1500m2 Community facility on the ground floor of South Village See more

16.01.2022 Earlier this week the new pedestrian bridge over Princes Highway, at Kirrawee was officially opened to the public. Sutherland Shire Council was a strong advocate for this project which will improve connectivity by providing a safe crossing of Princes Highway in a very busy location. Check out the notice sent out from TfNSW below

12.01.2022 Thanks Mark Buttigieg MLC for continuing to draw attention to this important issue. Sutherland Shire Council has taken a strong stance in favour of building a four lane bridge and taking all possible steps to improve safety on Heathcote Rd. Councillors of all political persuasions stand united and the State Government cannot continue to ignore this important issue.

10.01.2022 Exciting news! By The C have announced a huge line up of iconic Aussie bands for a COVID safe concert at Don Lucas reserve on 6 March 2021. Sutherland Shire Council is committed to supporting economic and social recovery during and after the COVID 19 pandemic (with appropriate health measures in place). Get in quick because tickets will be snapped up soon!

06.01.2022 Given COVID restrictions it’s an unusual Local Government conference this year, with Councillors joining in remotely from Chambers. Whilst it was disappointing that we couldn’t be there in person to celebrate, we were cheering Carol Provan on as she was recognised for her substantial contribution to local government. Carol may be on the other side of the ideological aisle, but she is a committed advocate for her community and a dear friend. Congrats Carol!

06.01.2022 Sadly the State Government has failed to deliver on its previous election promise to duplicate the dangerous Heathcote Road Bridge. Whilst additional funding to plan the duplication of the road is a step in the right direction, it is too little and far too late. Thanks Mark Buttigieg MLC for continuing to bring attention to this important issue.

05.01.2022 Important update from Sutherland Shire Council As of tomorrow, Tuesday 24 November, visitors to all Council facilities will be required to check-in electronically. As a result of changes to a health order by NSW Health, which applies to gyms, pools, libraries, galleries and other public facilities, we are no longer able to use paper-based records. Staff at every facility will be available to help those unable to use QR technology on their own devices.... Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adjust our services to ensure we stay #COVIDsafe

03.01.2022 According to a recent survey by Ipsos Australia the Sutherland Shire is the second most liveable metropolitan area in Australia! They've got to be joking if they think Adelaide beats us, but we scored high marks in safety, access to the natural environment, and a strong sense of community. Still work to do on housing affordability, traffic congestion and access to the arts (clearly they haven't been to Hazelhurst recently!). ... You can check out the full results of the survey here: https://bit.ly/2UgZ3WI
