15.01.2022 On the 18th of November the Republic of Croatia and its citizens commemorate the 29th Anniversary of the fall of the city of Vukovar. Citizens of Croatia will never forget this day. The Consulate General will be closed on Wednesday the 18th of November in observance of the Croatian public holiday Remembrance Day for the victims of the Homeland War and Remembrance Day for the victims of Vukovar and Škabrnja.



13.01.2022 Today at Clifton Hill the Council of the Croatian Catholic Community organized a special outdoor mass and rosary held by Father Ivica Zlatunic to celebrate 50 years of the canonization of the patron saint, St Nikola Tavelic. This event was the first official "Welcome back to the church". Unfortunately, only a small service of 50 guests was allowed - but it was the largest since Covid lockdown.

10.01.2022 Povodom državnog blagdana Dana sjeanja na žrtve Domovinskog rata i Dana sjeanja na žrtvu Vukovara i Škabrnje, u organizaciji Veleposlanstva RH u Canberri upri...liena je sveanost polaganja vijenaca kod spomenika Vila Velebita ispred zgrade Veleposlanstva. Uz veleposlanicu Betty Pavelich i generalnog konzula Ivicu Glasnovia vijence su položili predstavnici hrvatskih društvenih klubova i hrvatske zajednice iz Canberre i Novog Južnog Walesa zajedno s fra Miroslavom Jeliem. Neka im je vjena slava i hvala. On November 18th, the Remembrance Day for Homeland War Victims and Remembrance Day for the Victims of Vukovar and Škabrnje, we paid hommage to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for peace, freedom and democracy in the Republic of Croatia, during a wreath laying and candle lighting ceremony, on the grounds of the Embassy. Thank you to Croatian community organisations from Canberra and New South Wales, father Miroslav Jelic and Consul General Ivica Glasnovic for their participation. We shall never forget our heroes and all victims of the Homeland War, to whom we remain eternally grateful. See more
