24.01.2022 UD har idag uppdaterat reseråden för länder inom Europa. Efter den 29 juli avråder UD inte längre från resor till Danmark, Norge, Schweiz och Tjeckien. Sedan t...idigare har UD tagit bort avrådan från ett antal länder i Europa. För övriga EU, EES, Schengen och Storbritannien förlängs avrådan från icke nödvändiga resor till den 12 augusti 2020. En ny översyn kommer att göras dessförinnan. Mer information om beslutet och om vad som gäller för specifika länder finns här: https://www.regeringen.se//andrad-avradan-fran-icke-nodva/ Att UD nu beslutar att lyfta avrådan från Danmark och Norge är ytterligare ett steg mot det önskvärda målet om ett Norden fritt från hinder för människor att röra sig. Samtidigt är det viktigt att komma ihåg att läget inte är som vanligt igen. Alla resande ska följa rekommendationer som att hålla avstånd, tvätta händerna och avstå från att resa om man upplever symptom. Dessutom kan särskilda restriktioner och regler alltjämt förekomma i olika länder, och läget kan förändras med kort varsel. Den som planerar en resa har ansvar att hålla sig informerad om vad som gäller på destinationen. Jag uppmanar alla resenärer att hålla sig uppdaterade genom UD:s app Resklar och genom ambassadernas hemsidor på Swedenabroad.se.

Beslu...tet omfattar inte de länder för vilka avrådan tidigare har hävts. The exhibition, curated by Solander Gallery in Wellington, consists of artwork by ten New Zealand-based artists, each with their own interpretation of #DanielSolander and his contribution. From the ANBG, two prints from #Banks Florilegium are also on display as well as the Banksia Solandri plant specimen.

Renowned Australian neurologist Professor Frank ...Vajda, a Holocaust Survivor and author of the book "Saved to Remember: Raoul Wallenberg, Budapest 1944 and After," gave a moving and inspiring speech about courage in the face of evil. 04.01.2022 Embassy of Sweden partnered with the Solander Gallery in 2018 and the award winning exhibition #ParadiseLost was created. Highlighting the legacy of the Swedish botanist, Paradise Lost - #DanielSolander's Legacy toured New Zealand in 2019/2020. Finally in September of this year it opened in Australia at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Paradise Lost - Daniel Solander's Legacy is currently showing at Australian National Maritime Museum until February 2021. We would like to thank Solander Gallery for a fantastic partnership and send our best wished for a great year in 2021.

01.01.2022 Today marks the anniversary of the death of Dag Hammarskjöld. Dag Hammarskjöld was a world citizen. During his period as Secretary-General of the United Nation...s, from 1953 until his death in 1961, he became known as an efficient and dedicated international civil servant. Dag Hammarskjöld emphasised that a major task of the UN is to assert the interests of small countries in relation to the major powers. He was also among the architects of the UNs peacekeeping forces. Hammarskjöld was widely respected as a person of utmost integrity, who acted on the basis of moral and ethical values. Before he was appointed UN Secretary-General, Dag Hammarskjöld held high positions as a civil servant in the Swedish Government. He had a close connection to Swedens natural environment and traditions, while also being well acquainted with a variety of the worlds religions. Hammarskjöld also had wide cultural interests and was a member of the Swedish Academy. Today we honour the memory of Dag Hammarskjöld and pay tribute to his accomplishments.
