23.01.2022 The Final Walk for Year 12.

21.01.2022 WARNING: This post contains images that some viewers might find absolutely ! Teachers 2 - Students 1 Third game in the series and the teachers took aim and fired. Although out-numbered 50-1, the teachers were still the favourites having never lost a game of dodgeball. The extra weight training and fitness challenges during lockdown definitely gave the teachers an edge and they were looking to avenge the loss last week. Highlight of the game is when Mr Burnett insisted on a 1.5 metre space between Sean and the nearest student and helped him by nudging him ever so slightly with a dodgeball which was thrown at Mach Speed! Furthermore, some late reports claim Connors still picking himself up from the floor after that devastating blowby Mr Schmalfeldt.

21.01.2022 Now is a great time for Year 10 students to undertake work experience, like Sam here out in the job this week @cty.air Many thanks to all our employer friends of CHS for giving our students this valuable learning experience.

17.01.2022 WARNING: This post contains images that some viewers might find absolutely ! Teachers 1 - Students 1 The series is tied after a game of football which saw the students team, who were crowned Sydney East Champions last year, up against the teachers team. Rumours suggest the game was fixed as the match officials (represented by the students) let one too many calls go against the teachers. Mr Harivel and Mr Kelly were electric in the middle of the park. Mr Burnett an...d Mr McGrath had their shooting boots on but it wasnt enough as the students won the game comfortably 4 goals to 1. Brilliant saves in the first half by captain Sean Kennedy made some staff wonder why he wasnt the schools number 1. The schools attention now turns to Monday where both students and teachers will clash in a game of dodgeball. Who do you think will win? See more

16.01.2022 For NAIDOC Week, Year 7 have engaged in a number of activities to celebrate the 2020 theme 'Always Was, Always Will Be'. This years theme recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 60,000 years. It's about seeing, experiencing and learning the First Nations' deep rooted culture and history. Today Year 7 participated in traditional Indigenous games to experience Aboriginal culture first hand. In the afternoon, our 240 Year 7 students formed a human timeline to represent 60,000 years of Australian History; with each student in the line representing 250 years of history. This activity helped provide our students with a broader and more tangible understanding of the depth of First Nations History.

14.01.2022 WARNING: This post contains images that some viewers might find absolutely ! Teachers win series 3-1. The final game in the series was OzTag and students hoped to even the series and send it to sudden death but they could not stop the teachers secret weapon, Mr Paddy. If you look up side-step in a dictionary you will see a photo of Mr Paddy carving up. Congratulations to the teachers for their amazing efforts and our students for showing such good sportsmanship.

12.01.2022 On Tuesday 18th August, all Year 7-10 participated in this terms session of Cronulla High School's 'Study Skills' Program. The study skills program provides students with skills and tips on how to effectively study, prepare for assessment tasks, manage their time and remain organised during the term. Each year group had a bespoke session which was designed specifically to meet the needs of their cohort. It was fantastic to see all students engaged and actively participating i...n every classroom. In term 1, we asked our students what they felt they needed assistance in when it came to study and organisation. The Study Skills team used this survey information to design and develop activities which catered to the needs of each year group. Ms Shannon and Ms Deen's Year 7 session provided students with strategies to effectively plan for upcoming tasks and to better understand assessment notifications and requirements. Ms Borkovic and Ms McMullen's Year 8 session included developing effective mind mapping skills, better understanding the value of directive verbs in assessment questions and their role in marking criteria's. Ms Wilkinson and Ms Hargraeves Year 9 session taught students how to effectively paraphrase and summarise study notes, as well as introduced students to a number of new study strategies. Ms Wilson and Mr Browns Year 10 session helped students become aware of a number of subject specific study strategies they can use and how to write engaging study notes. A big thank you to the Study Skills team for designing and developing these resources for Year 7-10 and thank you to all the teachers who administered the session in their classes. All session PowerPoint presentations and accompanying resources can be found on Moodle, under 'Study Skills'. We look forward to seeing our junior students continue to develop their study skills, which will better equip them to achieve their learning goals, both this year and in their future studies. 07.01.2022 A mesmerising video of the creation of our Year 12 picnic cakes!

07.01.2022 @saltwaterdreamtime The design which I painted for Cronulla HS is based around our natural environment, focusing on the ocean and water. Cronulla HS is in a great location and I wanted to play on those natural themes. This artwork has a smooth flowing manner to it with the different shapes representing the movement of water. I painted each of these in cooler tones of Greens and Blues which also ties in nicely with the School's colours. Each of these different shapes has wit...hin it a circular design which is based loosely off a meeting place as School and classes act as a modern day meeting place where people from different backgrounds, families etc come together to learn. Finally I have used two different sized dots within the artwork, with the smaller dots representing the students and the larger dots representing the staff who are full of knowledge. Thank you to Year 12 and Mr Hollywood for arranging this amazing gift to our school. See more
