14.01.2022 Your Postpartum Timeline If you continued to workout up until giving birth you still need to rebuild and rehab in a slow and informed way. Birth is h...uge trauma to your body on top of carrying a baby for nine months. A lot of people train for birth but the recovery for growing a human and giving birth to them needs a lot longer than six weeks to heal from. If you’re into sport and exercise I can totally resonate with how your brain feels ready to get back into it much sooner than your body may be ready. A slow and gradual rebuild will be a sustainable one. It’s better to do the right thing from the start rather than rush back, be feeling great but then your body breaking down months or years down the track. Everyone’s timeline will be different. There is no one size fits all approach. SO many factors-pregnancy, birth, genetics, goals, interests, abilities etc There is no sure way to not get diastasis, prolapse or other pelvic health considerations but there are ways you can train to set yourself up the best you can. If you’re looking for a postpartum program I know a heap of P&PA coaches who may have the program that fits with your fitness interests and goals.
